Hi Mummyjulz, My husband has just upgraded his SLR for christmas and is looking to sell his Nikon D80, this was the model before the D90. It is in excellent condition. He is selling the body only with the extra battery pack. You may want to check what a standard lens costs to see if it is viable for you.

Can I ask you ladies how much you paid for your D90's? as I have been looking at them and they are currently doing an offer for 4999AED the cheapest being 4600AED this includes the 2nd lense which is up to 300mm and I wanted to know if this is good value or not.

I just bought the Nikon D3100 after it was voted best starter SLR by Digital Camera magazine. Got it for 400 quid duty free at airport before I left UK. So far so good. Was thinking of going Canon but the equivalent starter SLR, the EOS 1000D, was poorly rated and claimed to be outdated compared to the very new D3100. Hope you find something good!

U can get the Canon 500D and even better the Canon 550D. i think 500D is the cheapest canon dslr in the canon range. Affordable.. well i highly doubt if u will get a decent dslr below 3.5k. Good luck!
