Hi all! Any feedback on these two schools? I have to select one for my son, who is joining Grade 2 next year.

I visited DNS and had a tour and meeting with the supervisor, I wasn't very impressed. They follow US curriculum but the only thing American was the book publishers. I felt the teaching style and methods are far from it. Are kids happy there?? It seemed a bit gloomy in the Grade 2 section....

Any feedback on Al Worood? It's a tiny school, brand new, bad KHDA rating, but could be the right place for my son. It feels risky trying it out without some feedback. Anyone send their kids there, or could ask a friend who does? Help please!!!

Hi, thanks for all the advice. I checked with Winchester three weeks ago and they were full already. I have also checked Dubai Int'l and Al Ittihad School and they have no vacancies. There are a few good schools which are reasonably priced, but their location is past Safa Park or Trade Center so they don't transport this far. Anyone have experience with Dubai National School? It's such a big school and I wonder if kids enjoy it there, it seemed to me very academic, not enough arts subjects. Any feedback?

why dont you look at the winchester near Ibn Battuta mall. not that far from the GC and your children could get the bus as I remember that it did cover the GC when I lived there. I think that might fit into your budget too. Yes that is a good idea and it is a nice school. I know some teachers from there. I dont think that there is much difference in the cost either and its a more established school too.

It is simple spelling mistakes, like [url=http://alworoodacademy.com/static_page_1.php?id=27'>these[/url'> that really bother me, for a school.

Well, I have to pick from those two because of three reasons. A) I need a school I can afford with similar tuition fees, b) Other schools are not accepting new students anymore and c) I need a school on this side of Dubai because of transport! Any other suggestions, please let me know. brunchgoddess, yes this is Al Worood in Green Community. Do you have any experience with it? Actually DNS have a good rating from KHDA and seemed to be very well-organized and the staff very thorough and professional. But, I didn't like the teaching style and it seemed a bit.... gloomy for the kids.

If you are choosing those two purely for financial reasons then I understand however academically these two are very poor schools. There are schools that give better academic performance (than those two) and also has low(ish) fees.

Are those your only choices? Based on? Sorry, I would rather homeschool. My niece is at Dubai National and only for one reason, but nothing to do with the educational side.
