I just completed treatment with Dr Marc Mueller and wanted to praise him online to show my appreciation for the excellent work he has done. This thread is quite outrageous, seeing how Dr Marc really is such a wonderful caring person and great surgeon. I cannot believe what this person here is saying. Dr Marc is such a sensible and kind person, I find it very odd and unlikely that anyone whos honestly had a problem with him would go online and placate the web with slanderous slogans while at the same time advertising for a doctor who may want to try and compete with Dr Marc. Anyone who has been in DXB for a while will have come across Dr. Marc at some point or another. People should know that among experienced expats he is considered the gold standard for facial plastic surgery and respiratory issues. The fact that he does not need to go online and slander other doctors, while advertising his name, is case in point. Whatever... Who cares... to each their own!

I agree with "Stay away from Marc Mueller"'. In my opinion, he is extremely invasive and very commercial. I also recommend Dr John McEwan. As for the comment above that, Dr John was not available for 3 weeks- you must have tried to contact him at the time when he was involved in the research at Oxford University. As of now, he is back to dxb.

DR MARC MUELLER IS THE BEST. I had a chronic sinusitis and chronic tonsillitis since around 10 years (at least). Since 2017, things got worse and I started scrapping my throat consistently all the time, that was too much. I have seen different doctors in France and Australia with as a result heavy medical treatments for months with no results. One ENT specialist even told that my problem was genetic and that I had to live with it. As soon as I arrived in UAE, i went to google “Best ENT specialist in UAE” and Dr Marc Mueller came out many times. I thought an appointment with such a doctor would take month but he was indeed very accessible. So I booked my appointment with Dr Marc Mueller. He takes time to explain his diagnosis, he was very straightforward and above all he has a great personality. He took my problem very seriously and after few consultations and treatments he suggested a sinus surgery, turbinoplasty + tonsillectomy. He was very transparent with the risk and probability of success and we agreed to go ahead. Now, It’s been more 10 days after the surgery, I just can’t believe how much everything has improved, I can breath like I have a second pair of nose, my breath smell improved and above all I don’t scrape my throat anymore. It is the first since at least 10 years I didn’t need to blow my nose for a complete day. This experience literally changed my life. To people searching for a great ENT specialist I would definitely recommend Dr Marc Mueller.

After researching on this forum, I decided to see Dr John McEwan yesterday at his Mazaya Centre location (Sohar Clinic) and I can say that he was excellent. Very thorough, he took his time to explain everything in detail and did all sorts of examinations. Attentive, personable and inspired trust that he knew what he was talking about. Highly recommended. And thanks everyone for making it possible to find him! Sorry but I went to see john, we then made a follow up appointment which I then needed to change. I tried for over 3 weeks to get hold of him, i called the office numerous times, no one picked up, i left several message to call me back to change our appointment. No call back. i emailed him, no reply and I even texted his direct mobile twice and still no reply! Really unprofessional service! Was happy to take my 700dhs for my first apt......

I've seen John McEwan at City Hospital and so has DH for hearing loss at his newly open Sohar Clinic in Manaza(sp?) Mall on SZR. I found him to be excellent. I've read complaints on here about how busy he is and how he is always answering phone calls etc during consultations which he is, but I still found him to be excellent; very kind and caring. The reason he answers calls etc is because, apparently, none of the consultants at City have any admin support so they either have to accept and deal with all calls as they get them or deal with them at the end of the day.... But, regardless of all that, he knows his stuff. I have a condition which most ENT's just want to operate on, he is very cautious though and said he'd only consider surgery as a last option. So far, I've had no recurrent problems since seeing him. HTH

Have you seen a GP? I had something similar, very painful, and it was a staph infection which was easily treated with some topical antibiotics. You may not need an ENT to deal with it. If you do, I can highly recommend Dr McEwan, was not impressed with Dr Shukar at all.

STAY AWAY from Dr Marc Mueller! My husband went in with one-sided hearing loss. Dr. Mueller told him that he was getting old and he should expect that. My husband and I trusted him because he was highly recommended. He waited a year and kept losing more of his hearing and told his GP who sent him to a different ENT doctor who found that he has a brain tumor! He told us this kind of tumor causes one-sided hearing loss and every ENT doc should know about it and perform an MRI for it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN!!!!! Dr Mueller did the adenoids surgery for my LO as she had 100% blockage and was only breathing through her mouth since birth. That went well and I was happy he suspected the issue and treated her, she soon caught up on speech etc. Having said that he simply didn't understand my own condition with my allergy. He said there's not thing such as tonils getting inflamed due to intake of cold drinks. It been happening for 15 years so I know! My other DD developed flaky skin etc on her ear that seemed to go inside. He put her on 3 or 4 courses of antibiotics and it didn't help one bit...he went on to tell me he though it was a superbug infection or something like that. I did ask him, if it could possibly 'just' be eczema and he completely ruled that out. After spending several 1000 dirhams, I went to see another ENT, who said eczema was a good possibility..and in the end turns out it was 'only' eczema. Poor DD sufferred for so long and all those antibiotic courses :( The issue with Mueller is he thinks very highly of himself ( I feel) and will simply not listen to the patient.
