Gardener just asked for some plastic bin bags. I asked him if he and his colleague wanted some water. Yes, ma'am....So gave him some. He then asked for more drinks. I didn't really understand, asked him if he needed more water. No, he then said, please beer.
I was flabbergasted. Told him we had no beer and then he replied: yes, saw all bottles.

?!?!

I had a chap from Du come the other day to check the recorder box - which he got working within about 20 seconds. I asked him if he wanted water and he said "I Need Tea And Sugar!" Fair enough - but the box was now working! So, down he sat, while I made him a brew and he turned to the horse racing to "monitor the programme signal". When it finished I then had a 10 minute telling off for not having at least 2 children! Hahahah! Love it.....

@Sandy_Dogg: that's too funny ;) He just came back with his manager, as my DH called company he doesn't appreciate gardener peeking through windows to see what we've got in the house. He claimed he didn't ask for beer as he is muslim and doesn't drink beer?! Well, he sure did ask for one! I would have been happy to give him a Coke or Pepsi, 7-up or Sprite (all in the fridge ;)), but not a beer he claims to have seen.

I love it when people specify what they want to drink. I had a courier turn his nose up at water and ask for a coke or pepsi instead, please ma'am. I don't care what a gardener has seen, I'll decide if I'm sharing beer, not him! There was a thread on here about a couple of years ago where a poster had had a party in her garden. When the gardeners came the next day she told them to help themselves to the drinks left out in the coolbox, thinking it was soft drinks in there. When she looked the gardeners were all sitting with their legs dangling in her pool whilst drinking beer :) edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 10/01/2011 lol :D :D :D

haha ..my gardener was a naughty gardener thats what his brother use to tell us he smoked and drank beer lol A few years ago at xmas we gave him a beer and some cigarettes ....Also in our new house the labourers loved a can of beer after they finished doing my garden on a thursday lol
