20 minutes is a good sign. If they were not interested they would not talk to you for 20 minutes. Stay positive and let us know once you hear from them.

I went through many-many interviews, so my conclusion is: successful interview, usually takes 30-40 min and if the interviewer didn’t ask you personal questions, it’s a good sign.

if i end an interview in 20 minutes, thats not good. thing is, a proper interview goes 2 ways. you interview the candidate and they interview you. after i ask whatever im interested in, i present them the company and i also leave room for their questions. 20 minutes are just not enough for that. but than again, it depends on a lot of things like: - what job u applied for - who interviewed you - what stage of the interview were you in (we interview every candidate for a min of 4 times with different people) - what does the company do and what sort of recruitment processes they have - was it with the company itself or a recruiting agent

I had 2 hrs of pyschometric tests (eeeuuuuukkk!!), then an interview a week later that lasted no more than 20 mins - got the job :-) Am currently sat here scanning all my qualification certs (inc o all o levels going back 24 years!!), filling out a gazillion forms to inc detailed info re my parents (CID checks ;-( ) and I think next they'll be asking me for proof of my dead pets DOB & copies of my cycling profficency tests!!! Oh well, another few weeks of being a Satwa Sally whilst that little lot gets processed and I finally get a start date!! (for a job that verbally confirmed at the beg of Dec!!). Good Luck OP - I think 20 mins is a good sign. Fingers crossed you get the job. x

what would you say is a decent length of time for an interview? The longest I have had is 3 days, (8-9 hour assesments per day) had a migraine for a week after that! Hope you got the job after all that!

It could be on the short side, but it depends on what kind of job you're interviewing for and also what the interviewers are like, some people like to get it over and done with quite quickly. I wouldn't worry, but I also wouldn't be thinking that 20 minutes is a good sign IMHO but nor would I see it as a bad sign, just wait and see and don't stress about it, you've done all you can now.

Friend of mine once went for an interview fresh out of university. Sits down and says "so I just graduated.." and that was the end of it. She said the whole thing lasted 10 seconds, walking in and out! Don't worry, 20 minutes is a good sign. Was it with a manager/director?

A good sign in an interview is if they do more talking than you ...
