There is a poster on here named Apricot. She doesn't post very often but you could leave a message and she may be able to give you information. Hello Anon, thanks for the reccie ;) Marroosh and Naiyyar have kindly listed 90% of the places I would suggest. To their list I would add: Dubai Womens Association near Dubai Hospital: they have an English lecture every Sunday morning 8.30am given by the same lady who lectures at Al Huda Sisters in Al Manara. They also have good Qur'an classes for women in the evenings. Al Huda Institute in Al Mulla Plaza, on the border btwn Dubai and Sharjah. Classes taught by students of Dr Farhat Hashmi. I have been there, but prefer to gain religious knowledge from Arab teachers. Classes taught by Awatif Al Hashemi at the Palm Jumeira masjid near Atlantis Dubai on various weekday mornings (you can check her blog at http://awatifhidayah.blogspot.ae/) I've known this lady socially for the past 15 years, she has a great reputation in the community, but I've never been to her classes. There is a place called Markaz Al Huda in Al Twar, near Star Int'l School Al Twar. I have secondhand knowledge of their teachings. Princess Haya Ctr in Al Manara is now accepting registration for their weekday morning Tajweed classes for women due to start in Sept 2013. Highly recommended. South African Islamic Centre in Barsha South. Never been, don't know anyone who attends but it's on the radar. My fave is Al Huda Sisters (weekday AM works best for me!), followed closely by JILC.

Are these classes for adults only? Do they have classes for children? All the centres I have mentioned do classes for both adults and children. Also, Kalemah and Al Huda Sisters offer a lot of classes online through WizIq. I prefer to attend the classes at the centre but if you don't always have the means to go there, you can follow online.

Salam Alaikoum, The nearest centre to Mirdif is Sanabel in Nad Al Hammar behind the big mosk. And there is one also in Mizhar between Family Gathering and Arabian Mall, not sure of the street numbers. In Princess Haya Center in Mizhar as well they have classes sometimes.

Sorry to Hijack the tread, Just a question, is these classes conducted in English or in Arabic? I am interested to attend if there are any English classes in Mirdif area. Thanks in advance. Hi halfmoon, I live in Mirdiff too and drive to JILC some Thursday nights- they do talks in English about different Islamic topics. It's not too far to drive if you ever need someone to go with :)

They are in different languages, if you're in Mirdiff, Muhaisnah is the closest. So perhaps you can check out Kalemah. Al Huda Sisters does a lot online as well if you can't attend the classes in Umm Suqeim. Thanks for the information.

Kalemah is also a very nice Islamic Center. They arrange many seminars and lectures conducted by renowned scholars. These are paid sessions of two days but very well worth of each dirham paid. http://www.kalemah.org/ They recently concluded a free session of 11 days on islamic studies but no worries they always have something or the other for gaining knowledge. You all may subscribe on their site and you will get regular mails and smses on their upcoming events. Al Manar is another center and they too offer amazing oppurtunities for learning and improving life of both the worlds. please spread the word too. HTH I mentioned both centres as well:) I went to the 11 day course, it was amazing. Were you there? After i wrote, then i saw that u already had mentioned them and said to my self should have read ur reply carefully ;-) was so excited to see the topic that just jumped at writing away. wow ma sha Allah u went for the crash course? I couldnt make it to this one due to work :-( but am mostly there in most of their workshops. might have even crossed you if u attend often :-). So glad that we have such places to attend and learn so much. Last time Sh. Muhammad Salah was here through al manar with the Fiqh of Family. It was so enlightening; really one feels so blessed to be in such gatherings and learning from learned people and seeing what all they have accomplished. It esp. gives me the feeling that i have wasted so much time in worldly matters not concerning us, but then Alhamdolillah that HIS doors are always open for us and its better late than never. SOOO happy for u Maroosh and SINCERE duas for you Always. I always think of u and Alhamdolillah to have "MET" u here. <3 I didn't attend the Fiqh of family, but the course with Fahad al Tahiri was great, he really knows how to teach MashAllah. I had some time off that week so was able to go and a friend was driving us there every day. Who knows we will see each other in a class InshaAllah. I am at Al Huda Sisters on Sundays if you go there as well:) Du'ah for you as well:)
