Sounds as if she got out somehow, i would go now while it is quite for another walk about calling her. Only got back in half an hour ago from being out again with my biscuit shaker and calling her. thought as it's so quiet that it might help but no response to my calls. Feeling really sad as she's my very special cat and a big big part of our family. My little girl doesn't know what life without a cat is - she's really missed her today...... will be out again early tomorrow and hope we can get her back.

Any garages around, she may locked in, hope she turns up soon. Most of the garages here are open ones. Still got some leaflets to give out so hope that those who have garages that are closed will check on them for me tomorrow. I had a cat once who we lost for over 10 days - he got locked in a shed but he came back skin and bone and had lost his meiow - but a bit of tlc and lots of food and he was fine although he never meiowed again!

Who has access to the house and could have left a door/window open? How, when will help give you a time frame. It would be unusual for a house cat to stray too far are you sure no one could have taken her? The thing is - pre-Dubai she was an outdoor cat but when we brought her here it was the summer and she hated the heat - she burnt her paw pads on the marble steps so it put her off going out so she was never ever bothered about going out. the only thing we can think of is that we had a food delivery last night - she was with us right up until the door bell went. None of us can remember seeing her after that. My DH says he did not notice her going out. I've called the restaurant and they have checked with their delivery driver and he didn't notice a cat leaving the villa but.......that's the only time that we know that the door was opened. Usually she never ever worries about the door being open and saunters past without a thought to go out (although we are always careful and if we open the doors we always keep the fly screen across in case she did try to get out). I'm now wondering if the storm yesterday spooked her and made her act strangely and out of character....... just wish I knew where she was and that she is OK......13 years is a long time and she always slept with me - am not looking forward to going to bed without her purring in my ear!

Hi Claire Sorry to hear that your cat is missing. This is a long shot and not sure if the toilets in the bathrooms at Mirador are the same as the Al Reems. It's just that a couple of my cats used to hide behind the toilets in the cavity at the back. Just a thought.

Have you looked in all cupboards? My cat has a tendency to sleep behind the books on the book shelves.... Yes - all the wardrobe doors are open - she's not eaten any food since last night and has not used the litter tray either........ would love for her to pop down the stairs.......

My cat went missing (long story, he was taken by our former driver). FF and vets told me to immediately walk the area/perimeter around your house and compound, take a few worn shirts (unwashed with your scent and leave one in front of your house/garden and also rub it along walls/ garden, places close by...anywhere where she can catch your scent. Keep calling her name and do repeat every few hours/days. Your little one will be disoriented and in need of a homing beacon. Do it now. Do not let days go by, best chance for her to come back is when the trail is fresh. Put out food around your home and some water out. Give pictures to all cat/vet clinics in Dubai in case she gets brought in and write to 7days with a picture. Really feel for you. I hope you find her. Good luck!! Thanks so much. I called our vets and they tell me that as soon as an animal is brought in they call all the other vets to see if they have been reported as missing. If she still has her collar on she has my number and also her municipality tag........so I hope that she still has her collar on - she's also microchipped. Will be calling municipality tomorrow.

Talk to the maids as well - if there is a reward they will be very vigilant and keep their eyes open... thanks so much - I've just got back in after walking around with the iams shaking them and calling her name. Saw quite a few people walking around and have given out more leaflets. Have dropped pictures in most of our road and will hit the rest and street 1 tomorrow. Lifeguard at the pool has a picture for the noticeboard and the guards at the entrance have pictures and contact details. Met some maids whilst out too and have passed them the leaflet....... Had a call just now from a lovely lady in Victory Heights who thought it might be Millie - sent her a photo and it's not - so another pussycat is missing in Victory Heights...... Thanks so much for being so vigilant.......fingers crossed she will find us and be OK. Seems so strange without her here with me this evening.

As suggested, you need to look in every nook and cranny, if you have a torch then have agood look in all the dark hidey holes, use your hands. If she was off her food, she might be feeling off colour and has hidden somewhere in the house? Best of luck x

You need to go right back to the beginning with the family, who saw her last and when, think think think. Who has been in and out in that time, was a door left open. Big storm yesturday, has she gone into hiding somewhere in the house or did a window get blown open? Also check the bookcases, one of ours hides in there and we can never find her.
