Our gorgeous cat has disappeared - please help!

Claire, I really think you should search close in your area. My aunty lost her cat as she jumped from the balcony (1st floor) and she searched everywhere for her and called and called for 3 days.. the family just didn't stop searching, on the 3rd night she found her and it seems that the cat was terribly scared and she was hiding somewhere in a garden nearby, she was totally starving, her eyes completely closed and she has no voice to meow. The Vet told my aunty that it seems that the cat cried a lot when she didn't know how to come back (because again it is an apartment not a villa) and at the end she was so tired and she lost her voice that's why she couldnt meow back for them even when she heard them calling her. Her eyes had to be treated for weeks after. Now the cat and my aunty are fine, my aunty was about to fight with her neighbour because she was suspicious that he did something to the cat but at the end, the cat just lost her way. Please think positive and be patient, just keep searching around in your area, put flyers on all the doors of villas in your compound, she is close and I am sure she wouldn't go far. yeah - i just got back in after walking the whole road again and every single villa has a picture and my number. have got all the gardeners looking too - and the security guards on the gate have a picture and are getting them to check all the bushes. also given picture to all the gardeners who do the communal grounds in AR - so they are all looking. Have told them there is a reward for her safe return so they have extra incentive to check and be vigilant. Quick cold drink and more leaflets and am off to Street 1 now...... Husband just called from the pet market - spoke to a municipality vet there and another vet and a british short haired cat is rare there and they have not seen one there for a good few weeks so sounds like she's not been taken to be sold there.....yet...... they have taken her tag number and chip number. He said they were really helpful and will be on the look out for her as she's pretty rare and the word gets around when one comes in like that...... we will see......

perhaps JulesinDXB can arrange a radio callout Catboy did a call out this morning and he said he'll look out for her on his bike ride around AR today! They've also said they'd put her picture up on their website so that's really helpful.

Claire, I think she is close.. Maybe some nice neighbor took her in for the night and didn't have time to check for the microchip yet. Don't trust the collar, mine loses one every week out of the house. Wish you find her soon, good luck!

Is there any construction going on near by? Or a water tank with a lid left open? starting to sound not good. No - no construction close by and to be honest - the water tanks here are so high there's no way she would have got up to one - she's 13 so an old lady really - I'm hoping that that will keep her not too far away.

I know what u going through,my adored cat Eric disappeared exactly a year ago,we tried everything to find him and when i had no more tears there he was,he came back after 2 weeks meaowing for food,and just returning to his bed as nothing ever happend.Pls i know its difficult bt have faith,i use to whistle at him and thats how i think he came back(we were just arrived in Dubai at the time),all the best and if there s anyth i can do let me know!

Hi Claire. I think you should check with all the neighbours in villas on the same side as yours. I am in Springs and few weeks ago I found a cat hiding in my garden inside a cat box which I left outside, I took her in as she was very scared. The next day and after checking her microchip with the vet, we found that the cat belongs to villa 36 (I am in villa 42). Well the cat escaped from their main door and ended up in my garden! Good luck and we will be waiting to hear some good news from you.

Thinking of you, Claire. Hope she turns up today. How agile is she at that age? Perhaps as someone said, she's found her way into a garden or something and can't seem to get out. Thanks. A sleepiness night for me. Was up and down looking for her hoping she was on the front door step but no sign yet...... She doesn't look an old cat she's in great condition and even the vet commented that she was looking great last time she was there for her shots. There's no way that she would be able to climb the garden wall though but she could get in under the garden gates I think so I'm just hoping that she can get out the same way and find her way back to us. Will be out again after school drop off for day 2 of where are you Millie.

I do hope your cat turns up!!!!!!!! I would dread the thought If I lost one of mine. Ive had to take a kitten in tonight, can only be 5 weeks old max, poor little mite, think its been starved. A really lovey Grey persian too, will need treatment, but will be such a lovely baby once it puts weight on, I know FF will do everything to get it back into a healthy condition.

Good luck Claire. Both of our house cats got out on Christmas Day, we found out how but none of us had seen them go. The female was in the garden but the male was missing. We'd taken them in off the street but that was at our old house and they'd not been out here. The male is the bottom of the heap so I was really worried. I had been out calling every 10 minutes or so and had walked the streets but no sign. Just as I was going to call it a night, he reappeared! So relieved but I've pointed out to him that just because he did it once, he's not going to be going out again. A decent reward may turn something up. If your cat likes fish, or something else that's strong smelling, try taking that out with you too. Could she have got over a wall that she can't get back over - it happened when I was house sitting in Abu Dhabi. One of the cats went up a tree into the next compound but there was nothing on the other side so that he could get back. Fingers crossed for good news x
