Zambia, would be interested in owning your own business again? Little impressions are looking for someone to buy their business , they create 3d hand and feet impressions of babies and children.

Ladies, I am looking for part time work. I have background in Financial Communication and Investor Relations. I worked in New York until 2008. After which I started up my own business (nothing finance related!). I moved to Dubai recently and am looking for some part time work. I KNOW - good part time opportunities are so hard to find and so rare to come by. However, I would appreciate if anyone has leads on where to look and where to begin my search. Thanks a bunch! Part-time jobs are generally limited to schools/nurseries, working in admin.

There's a part-time coaches advertisement in the job section. you might want to try that.

Yes, there are some really good ones out there. I got a one with a fantastic company and great boss. Worked for them for a year 50% and not too bad pay. Then decided to up my hours so they agreed to a 80% contract with housing, free flights and everything.....but all good things come to end :( ...they are closing down and so have to look for a job again....

There are lots of part-time jobs. Just in the last month, I could have had 4, alone. BUT, the competition is tough. You will have highly qualified people taking low qualified jobs just to get out of the house, so be prepared for that. Go to company websites and see what they have. Wages won't be great, but it is pocket money and a chance to get out, and fill your CV with something. Google part time jobs Dubai, and something will come up. Some kids get more pocket money than what's offered at most of those places ;) Sorry am a bit disgruntled, have been trying to give up my full-time job for quite some time to be with the family, but the part-time jobs salary hardly covers the maid's salary. Unfortunately, you can't have it all and something has to give. That something when you are looking for part time work is usually a compromise on salary, unless you can negotiate to work part time hours in your current position. I was offered three or four part time jobs and although the money wasn't bad (not great but not just over a maid's salary either), the hours were awful and/or the company wasn't brilliant. Most part time jobs want someone for late afternoon/early evening and weekends and that I just wasn't prepared to do. I struck the part time jackpot though and landed a great job with a great company with a not bad salary but that is more than made up by the fact that I work for a great boss and can work hours to suit me - money is not the driving factor me thankfully. I have since gone full time (but that is another story) but good part time jobs are out there, they just take a bit of sniffing out and patience and being in the right place, at the right time.

It is legal. Agree with basil on every point, except labour card fees are closer to 2000, but may be depending on case. Anyways, that's paid by the company. My labour card costs less than AED 300. OP, networking is your best option, tell everyone and anyone that you are looking for a part time job. Remember that most jobs are for all year round, so if you are planning on escaping for 2 months over the summer your best option would be an educational institution. EW often has part time jobs on the jobs section. Good luck!

Actually it is legal. Just hard to find and of course everyone wants it when their children are at school. When actually most part time jobs are after school or weekends. You have to be on your husbands visa, he writes a NOC letter , and then the company pays for the labor card . Which is 500dhs.

very hard to find ..... you and hundreds of others want this option - apparently part time work is not actually acknowledged in the UAE if you read the labour laws! If you find some let us know :-)
