Does anyone here do slimming world online? I'm thinking of joining up, but wondered if there was anyone here doing it for a bit of moral support? 2011 is my year to get thinner and fitter!

I've had a look at a few old threads, but can't find anyone recent who seems to be doing it.

Boo hoo!!!!!! I tried to set a support group for us on weight watchers just last week but both posts of mine got deleted. Not fair?? How did you do it? Not quite sure what rule the mods think I'm breaking either. I'm not advertising, not a paid group, just support with motivation and to keep up with weekly weigh in's.

This is the first time i hear about such a group, what do they do exactly? Won't it be easier to just plan your own exercise routine and convenient diet rather than drive all the way? I recently followed a raw diet for 2 weeks without exercising and lost 5kg which is quick and healthy. with this diet you never have to feel hungry or count your calories, you eat as much as you want as long as it's raw...you will lose weight without even exercising but if you do combine it with exercise the slimming will be drastic! Good luck :)

I,m just about to join a group of ladies in A.D. who are all on a quest to lose weight.Have been told that all of them follow different plans, but i,m just happy to have like wise woman to chat to etc.I,ve found it harder doing it on my so looking forward to joining this group.Awaiting the 30 day thread dvd arriving from overseas as well so hoping with that and following slimming world plan ,i,ll be back on track.

You should totally get your own group started!! I posted here (well, on the Qatar boards) about joining Weight Watchers online and wanted to get a group of us together. A decent response, we made a plan to meet, and the rest, as they say, is history. That 1st meeting was 2 years ago next week. The group is still going strong, and we've had a lot of weight loss successes! Good luck!

I had never even heard of slimming world until I saw this article on another thread! I wish there were groups here, doing a search..... Have been trying to find the original thread I was thinking of with limited success so far. There is a group in Mirdif - is that too far for you? If interested I can get those details for you? Am sure there were some other people your side of town though....wish could find the thread!! :)

I would definitely be interested in joining a Slimming World group here. I signed up online just before we arrived, but still haven't sorted out all the ins and outs of it! Need to get started asap, as quite a bit of weight has seemed to creep up on me the past couple years!

Hi, I did slimming world for 7 months when i had to return to the u.k last year,loved it and found it so easy to follow. I managed to lose just over 3 stone despite not doing any real exercise as such,(i don,t think you can call daily walking along the high street shopping exercising haha).I did join a group and i,m still in contact with a few people that i met there,two of them being group leaders.I,ve even got a friends husband bringing me the latest mag back plus mug shots!!.would love to have company, share tips etc so look forward to hearing back from you.
