In your opinion what are the best cafes in Dubai? A place where you can relax with a book or surf the net in a cute and cosy environment?
I like Caribou for their nice leather armchairs.

Love good ole Gerard's in Jumeirah - still best croissants in town!

I like carpe diem in town centre to unwind and read the papers-it's a nice atmosphere. I like Dome for coffee and tea (in a pot) and I like Paul for their cakes. I spend so much time in costa at the Ranches waiting for pick ups it's turned me off costa completely. The starbucks upstairs in Debenhams is also nice and quiet with more comfy chairs than usual. We have a Nespresso machine and the coffee is great but having a cup at home is not the same to me as having one out! I've asked the staff at Nespresso why they don't have a cafe??? No real answer. edited by A Rancher on 12/04/2011

Coffee is far too expensive here in Dubai so look for a buy X get X free deal LOL - Cafe Nero is the best coffee, have a card deal and staff are friendly too! edited by Pomegranate on 12/04/2011

I like PQ. Don't know how good the coffee is - I'm not a great connoisseur - but I love the fact that it comes in a bowl! Reminds me of a school trip to France when I was about 10.

I second RAW. I use their beans at home and they make a great coffee. In terms of coffee shops, I like Lime Tree, great coffee and great food and child friendly ;) Ooh. Forgot Lime Tree. ;) Then again, I go there for the carrot cake, not the coffee [although the coffee isn't bad either'>. :D

You must try RAW, arohadxb. They source their own beans, roast them on site, can grind them to your specs if you like ... and it's run by Kiwis. :D I'll kidnap you next week and force you to enjoy. :)

At home in beautiful cosy surroundings, nice to also meet at a coffee shop but not as comfortable as home .

I like caribou for the coffee. and I buy the beans and bring them home and make it myself. Don't really do this whole go out for coffee bizzo unless it's with the school mums. For that I like mOre...the moe one's nice and you get a decent breakfast.

I only go to my coffee shop -- RAW @ Dubai Garden Centre -- for the [i'>coffee[/i'>, not the atmosphere. I'm not sure I've ever considered 'cute and cosy' to be a prerequisite for a coffee place, but then, I'm All About The Coffee and I generally go by myself FOR the coffee. ;) I'm not saying it isn't a great little place to hang out in if you feel so inclined [there is a big table with newspapers, and a bar at which to sit'> but there's no internet access, so far as I'm aware.

I love Costa at MOE. Not for its atmosphere or coffee but because once a week I meet with some of my favourite people in the world for an hour of true friendship. *You know who you are* :)
