Sunny - Wud luv to meet for coffee too, but work full time :(. Weekends is the only time I get (not a good time as everyone's busy wid family). Work seems to be getting in the way of a lot of things I want to do these days.. grrrr! Deb - I always thought I wud keep it a surprise till the end, that is before I was pregnant! Since the day the little stick turned blue... I cudn't wait to know. Either way is fun. Good luck

Hi LAD - I don't know where the ante natal classes are held. We are going to Medcare for scans, etc, but not sure about antenatal yet. I live in the Marina, so maybe somewhere closer to here, will have to look into it a bit more as I think you go around 30 weeks? (I haven't a clue about anything really to do with pregnancy...we are winging it a bit lol!!!) Hi Nams_new - hey we are due around same time! My first too, my 20 week scan is in a couple weeks. We think we are going to find out but hubbie not sure...we shall see! Hi sunny28 - would love all of us new mamas to be to meet for a coffee too!

Hi, I'm due early Oct (around 8th) so am 18 weeks at the moment and this is my first baby. I'm with Dr Azza at Medcare and am very happy with her. Is anyone going to antenatal classes nearer the time? I live in the Marina and would have gone to the Bumps and Babes coffee, but I don't think it's on at Ibn Battuta anymore is it? I think I read somewhere that some locations of the coffee mornings had changed. IBN Battuta would have suited me as I'm currently staying in Discovery Gardens until we move into our apartment. Where are antenata classes held - is it through your clinic? I've still to register with a dr

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me gatecrashing your thread as I'm due in September (15th)! I've just moved to Dubai a week ago, so I'm interested to speak to other pregnant ladies over here as this is my first, so all very new to me. I got a tour of maternity ward at City Hospital, it looks lovely, so think I will be choosing there to deliver. Just need to find an Obst/Gynae now, however waiting on my insurance card coming through. Would appreciate any advice xx

cheers sprout, I am going to Dr Laxshmi at Ibn Battuta Welcare but I am still unsure as I don't think anybody on EW has been to her before and the other worry is the excessive scans she is performing on me (see my other thread). Can you ladies recommend me an alternative Gynae in the New Dubai area pleeeease? Hi I am due in Nov...so not too far behind I think it might be good that u have a gynea that the whole of Dubai isnt going to I initially went to a dr at medcare --- that i read about on EW - but she was soooo busy - felt like i was apart of a production line! This is my second - first munchkin was delivered 15 months ago at City Hospital - cannot overpraise thier service or staff!

due first week of Oct. Had 12 weeks scan today and all the blood tests. Decided not to do NT scan as would not change my decision on whether to terminate or not, so didn't see the point. Good luck to you all, first trimester over...or almost for some of of you! I'm travelling next week and forgot to ask doc if I could take motion sickness tabs. anyone know? I've had antibiotics twice so far, for sinusitis so a bit worried about more meds. <em>edited by TurkishDervish on 28/03/2011</em>

Hi Sprout, the 'Bumps and Babe' thingy seems very promising... sadly, I am working full time so won't be able to join the fun meetings. Wonder if they have anything for the weekends! I am beginning to get worried abt the excessive scans..... at 12 weeks I've already had 3! I guess I shud start looking around for a new gynae too. I am keen on Dr Elsa @ City Hospital, but she's so heavily booked that there are no appointments for new patients till June. Cloth nappies..... that's a thought. It seems very tempting, but the thought of all the mess just makes me nauseous. Would love to hear thoughts/opinions on this one though

Hi all, Orchard and Nams_new, so nice to hear from someone else around the same stage as myself! I'm due in the second week of October, currently waiting to have my 12 week scan next week. This first trimester seems to have lasted for an age!! Everything has been more or less fine with me, apart from a couple of minor issues. I changed OBGYN and am now with Dr George at AH. He definitely doesn't scan too much and basically operates the same as the UK system - 12, 20 weeks etc, whereas the OBGYN I was with before was scanning me all the time. Has anyone thought of venturing to one of these 'Bumps and Babes' things? ;) Just wondering if it's worthwhile. I am going to meet with some women this week at a Nappycino (!). It's to discuss and get advice on using cloth nappies. I'm really set on not using disposables (lol) and, this being Dubai, I figured I'd better start to look into it at an early stage. Anyway, nice to have contact with some people who will have new babies around Oct / Nov! :)

Hi Maariyah. I am also due the first week of Nov :) I went for my first doctors apointment today. I have decided to go with Dr Sulihi at Healthbay Clinic, on Al Wasl Rd. She was lovely! She did scan me today just to confirm the pregnancy and check everything was OK. She then explained to me she goes by how she did in the UK so next scan will be at 12 weeks and then 20weeks and so on unless something was to worry her.
