Hey DB hang in there. I know its rough. My morning sickness is in full swing now. Trying to manage 2 kids + work plus a hubby away for 2 weeks has been quite challenging. its harder the first time I think cos you don't have a baby yet to remind you why its all worth it. But trust me it is! Treat yourself to some lovely maternity wear. Spa somewhere to rest and pamper yourself. Honestly what your feeling is normal and once the second trimester hormones kick in, you will be so happy and excited and energetic! If you need to talk and feel up to it we can always catch up for a coffee somewhere. Once my hubby is back. X

Hi all, First check up on Wed all went well. Bub is coming along nicely. Still feeling rubbish also. A long way to go yet. Just cant get over how tired I feel all the time, and hungry and then sick. Usually in that order. :) Hassli, will u find out what your having? are you a sweet tooth usually? Both my DD's craved sweets all the time (not usually a sweet tooth) so that's something to think about. :) How you feeling DB? Thanks Tablair2004 :) I just arrive from a check up (finally found one nice doctor in karamA). She did ultrasound and O my O my.. I have a Dancer inside me.. I feel like crying... God is so amazing... Though I need to take extra care of myself... My placenta is blocking my cervix (placenta previa) which can lead to miscarriage... She said, i can't lift heavy things (something that will exert effort down).. No s** until my doctor said so.. No traveling (plane, sea and long driving)... Hope on my next month, my placenta goes far from my cervix.. (though the doctor said it will shift as the baby grows)... She also told me that as early as 4-5th month, she can tell the gender of my baby :) Prayer for all pregnant women out there :)

Thanks DB, I will try to find that brand :) I feel a bit ok than before but I have this dizziness most of the time... But tolerable now and good thing it does not affect my work that much... Great DB, hope they can tell my baby's Gender by 12 weeks (almost there). I notice the following changes in my body and my senses. (11 weeks 3 days) 1. My breast is not so tender now 2. Less frequent need to pee 3. My sense of smell is more sensitive and strong 4. Have white milky discharge (mild smelling) still I feel gross (last time they check no infection).. Hope I'm clear on my next check up 5. My belly is now noticeable :) 6. Enjoy s*** than before 7. Moody ( feeling so sensitive ) 8. The way I walk change (that's the feedback I have from my officemates) 9. Love sweet items :) 10. Love to look at my DH face every morning :) 11. No food cravings (find it weird) (my cats are so sweet than ever ... Wonder if they sense that a baby is on her/his way to meet them :)) Happy pregnancy to all :)

Hi ladies.. Would like to ask regarding the Check Ups procedures and process in latifa and the Clinic (accredited by latifa). I'm 11 weeks and 3 days pregnant for the first time (almost ending my first trimester :)), and Latifa told me that I need to report to the accredited clinic for the check ups then when I turn 5 months, my check ups will be held in the Latifa hospital itself... What kind of check ups and lab tests are they doing in the clinic and in the hospital? Do they let you see your baby in the monitor? ( al Baraha does not do this). I presume taking your weight, height, BP.. What else? Do they monitor if the baby inside you is progressing the way the fetus should be? Do they monitor If your water level is ok or not? I would appreciate if someone will give me some enlightenment :) Thanks a lot

Hello everyone. I'm joining as I sincerely need a larger support system here in AD. My husband and his family are here in AD, but all of my family (parents, expectant sister and sister-in-law, cousins, etc.) are all in the States. Today I'm 11 weeks 4 days :) with my first. Sincerely excited... Thankfully the late night heart-burn I've had for the last month is subsiding, but there are still foods I'm afraid to go near for fear of nausea! I've been having strange dreams lately...anyone else? -Amanda

Hello ladies :) how are you all feeling now... I just enter my 11 week period (10 days and 1 day to be exact) and I am feeling more nausea than before...and always have a feeling that you like to throw up all the time... I find it weird as I though that I am approaching the end of my 1st trimester, I will be more relax but find things more worst :( I even cried one night feeling helpless... I will also try that sickness band. Also DB, where will I get a ginger ale? My DH brought me ginger herbal tea which doesn't helpe at all... Hope everyone is doing fine :) edited by Hassli on 16/05/2012

Hi DB, i totally understand i had the same thing with both my older ones. Its really disheartening to feel so sick for so long i understand. Something that helped me was chewing on some dry crackers before i got out of bed. Also i loved coke slurpees to keep me cool in the hotter months. Also a friend of mine also used the sea sickness braclets you can get from the pharmacy. Try a few different things you will find something that works. Before you know it it will be over and you will want to do it all over again. Sorry your not feeling well. X I am also delivering at Medcare. :) Which Dr?

Hi there, its only natural to cry at the scans, its an amazing experience. I still do, it dosnt change no matter how many children you have. The next lot of scans if my memory serves me is testing for growth, also for any abnormalities like down syndrome, nuchal transluceny scan ect. nothing to be worried about. Just more detailed scanning. Getting super excited now actually. At first was a bit in shock and nervous now super excited. :) Where are you going DB for delivery?

Hello ladies.. Just had a check up yesterday and it went well. We hear out baby's heartbeat and everything else is good as per the doctor. Though, We are happy to learn these... We have a concern over the whole pregnancy costing..we find it a concern where to have pre natal care and which hospital to go for delivery... I have insurance but it does not cover maternity. Can you recommend a good hospital (pro natural birth)? I have already inquire with latifa hospital (al wasl) it will cost 16k - 21k with epidural (5k for prenatal (10visits), 9k normal delivery (14k c-section) with private room for 2 days and 2k epidural) Amber clinic have 4k prenatal care but they will only refer you to other hospital for delivery. (we already spend here almost 1k.. For consultation 150, ultrasound 350, and 500 for urinalysis, toxo IgG test, and CBC - we find this already a lot... Thinking to have pre natal package) Any recommendation :) Thanks ladies :)

Hello girls ... Has anyone experience difficulty in breathing? Been experiencing this since 4 day ago and I'm currently 7 weeks and 0 days... If yes, how are you dealing with this shortness of breath? Thanks... No, shortness of breath isn't normal and if you're having difficulty breathing then you should get yourself to a hospital. Thanks floridagirl... I moved my check up/appointment Tom. Instead of sat. as this is troubling me especially at night... I will go to hospital once I feel I can't tolerate the same... Hoping all things are fine with my first prenatal check up and hear my baby's heartbeat... Thanks...

Other than being tired, I'm feeling pretty great! My nausea has subsided since I started taking extra b6 last week. Had a scan on Sunday at 6w6d and have no idea if there was a heartbeat. Doctor was running late and my appointment/scan was very rushed and I didn't get to ask half of the things I wanted to ask. I was so flustered since this was my first and didn't know what to expect. :-/

Big Congrats! I'm expecting as well (my first pregnancy), just started my 7 weeks and expecting Twins. So my official due date is 9th Dec, but apparently Twins always comes early so will probably be end Nov. I've not been enjoying the last 7 weeks so much, as I'm constantly hungry and when I eat I feel nauseous or get heartburn (so can't win). I hope it only last for the first trimester. Are any of you starting to show yet?

Congrats!!! :) I'm a first time mommy too and my EDD is mid Dec'12. Since I enter my 6th weeks, I started to feel the nausea and the urge to vomit from time to time...:( But its ok... This Saturday would be my first pre natal.. Excited to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time... Which hospital would you like to go for delivery? I'm opting for Latifa Hospital :) Cheers...
