Hi Mmmmmm Hope you are keeping well and not long till go now for us all. I am feeling the best I have done all pregnancy and have quite a bit of energy which is strange as the past few weeks I was always in bed by 9pm lol. I have been taking an Iron supplement for a month so not sure if that has given me a boost… Sure it won’t last though :)

Hey all, Quick question - are you all still very active at the weekends? I dont know about you but all I want to do is go home on a Thursday evening and stay at home for the weekend! Of course it is the time of year where there are lots of birthdays and celebrations that I cant really avoid going to but all I want to do is VEG! :(

Morning all, Also had an appointment last night and the dr confirmed that the baby has started to drop. I have been feeling extra pressure on my poor bladder recently so thats obviously it :) but at the same time, have had much less of an appetite - still feel as if my stomach has absolutely no room in there whatsoever! Dr also mentioned last night that she may think of inducing at week 39... Not sure how I feel about this. I am very against having a cesarean if I can help it and she said that the baby is a little on the large side. So, in an effort to avoid a potential cesarean, she has suggested inducing at 39 weeks but has also said that she will see how it goes closer to the time. That means I have just over 4 weeks to go!!!! I know what you mean now TDB about feeling scared / excited - it all seemed like so far away up to now and now it feels like there is no time at all!!!

Hi! Wow, your baby shower sounds great Dangerous Blonde. Glad you've now got everything you need/want. My baby definitely has dropped according to obstetrician yesterday. Very heavy down there and is now head down which is good. Having lots of Brixton hicks but cervix still closed so all good. Makes me waddle now as I walk! I think it's normal to drop now. 1st babies drop earlier than subsequent ones I think, or is that engage? Not sure if they're the same thing! I know that second and third babies don't engage until later or until labour but 1st do. Forgot to ask obs that. I think your baby is just getting into position. To on babycentre or something. Hope all others are well. Don't panic! X

Hello ladies :) Hope you already complete your nursery stuff. I have a question regarding first aid items. I am a first time mom and still clueless with the medical related items I need to have inside the house. Can someone enumerate the first aid items or medical items we should have incase of some minor accidents or sickness. 1. Thermometer (what kind of thermometer I need to buy?) 2. Creams (what kind of creams I need to stuck Up) And so on. Also, have you already selected your pedia for the baby? Shall we do it before delivery or after delivery? Thanks a lot, Hassli

Hi ladies, I'm also a dec due date, due on 14th with our first. The weeks are certainly flying by, and everything is a lot more real since our tour of city hospital yesterday! I'm very lucky as not working and certainly noticing the benefits as a friend, due the same day as me, who is still working is very swollen and uncomfortable but touch wood I've not had any of that... Yet. I had a question that you may be able to help me with... I'd like to have some professional B&W photos of my bump done. Just wondering if any of you have done this or know of anyone who has and can recommend a good photographer? Thanks :-)

Hi all, Totally in sympathy with not sleeping! Mine keeps kicking a lot at night and get very sharp pains down the right side of my bump. Must make sure I don't do too much lifting (hard to achieve with two little ones). This is third pregnancy and not sure I've ever really realised BH were happening! Not using any extra pillows yet as they seem to get in the way but perhaps might help! Not had 4D scan so can't help there I'm afraid. Hope all well. Looking forward to seeing you all. Will make it happen. X

Well ladies, how are you all feeling today? TDB sorry to hear that you havent been well this week. I have been having BH too but didnt realise thats what it was until the Dr pointed it out to me LOL! I just noticed tightening of my tummy but it wasnt painful at all. Not sleeping too well - i have so many things in the bed at the moment LOL! A rolled up towel ubove my hip, a pillow in between my legs and a wedge under my bump.... plus am getting lots of cramps in the night so when I have to move, all of this apparatus has to move with me ... it would be comical if I wasnt tired ha ha! FQ, our 20 week scan was a 4D and we were having it anyway as it was a big scan. We had it in the Fetal Medical Centre and we got no good images at that stage. All was well thank goodness so that was the main thing. However, had doppler this week and we got some amazing images of babys face! Its unreal what they can do! Perhaps you could just ask your Dr. to get some 4D images during one of the routing bigger scans at some stage...? Roll on the weekend!!!

Thanks Ladies I might just keep my appointment at our regular hospital then as the lady that has conducted all my previous scans is lovely, a little scatty, but lovely all the same :) Hope you're feeling better today, how's the tummy doin'? I think yesterday was generally an ill-feeling day. I also took the day off as I had a bout of depression; so I took to the gym and then caught some rays. I feel fantastic today, all revived, a teeny bit achy from my workout but not a waterwork in sight, so job well done :) Thanks again! This is our first, so we're super excited! :) Congrats to you too!!

Good afternoon mummy's to-be :) I have a question I hope you can help me with. I am 28 weeks (DD 28th Dec - boy) We are planning to have a 4d scan, our doctor has scheduled us in next week in our hospital, where they will charge 900dhs. A friend of ours has said that this is expensive and we could get it done for 700dhs somewhere (but she doesn't remember where). Have you had the 3d/4d scan done? Is it worth it? Where did you go? How much did it cost?? Thanks :) Hi Have you tried the following two places as I believe they do scans but not sure on the cost N9NE Medical Institute or The Fetal Medicine and Genetic Center :)

32 weeks today...starting to feel a bit like a weeble, seriously loose ligaments! No lie, my hip actually fell out of place a couple weeks ago and landed me in the hospital and then the chiropractor to put it back. Not fun! Any one else ever have this issue! My baby girl seems to be growing right on track...next appointment not until the 17th though... Excited about finding more details, but much less excited about the severely long wait! What is up with four house? Must they really book five people for the same time slot? What's the point of an appointment anyway?

Hi globetrotter1 We are due the same time then as I am the 22nd Dec and due with my first. Hope everyone is doing well as we are getting closer. Well my second Glucose test was awful again and I failed to keep to keep the drink down. I managed an hour and just as I was waiting for them to take my bloods, baby decided he didn’t like it and I threw it up. They still took my blood and the bloods an hour later but I have told them I am not doing it again. It makes me feel so awful all day long too. Look forward to seeing you all soon :)

Hey guys, So good to see so many December mommies:) I am due around 23rd December. The glucose test went well and I have my Doppler scan next week. Hope the doctor doesnt have any bad news for me then. Good luck to everyone and I hope the glucose tests are normal and you guys can continue with your normal diet without getting too conscious about every bite you take. Looking forward to being in touch with everyone.

Good luck today MrsCB. I actually went and got mine done yesterday in the end as didn't feel hungry when I got up so could carry on fasting until 9am opening time. It was ok actually, although sugar drink not pleasant. I don't have my results yet but not expecting anything bad. Wouldn't even be having the test in the UK. Hope check up went well. Nice to hear someone else same stage as me. Still feels like ages to go! Mmmmmm, glad you got to see face. It's all getting exciting now as I start to think about what I'll need!

Thanks ladies, MrsCB, fingers crossed it goes well. Yes it was definitely the glucose challenge test. I have the results in writing. I was told to get up, eat breakfast and then come to the clinic 2 hours later to drink the drink and they took my blood test 1 hour later. I have a friend in AUH who had the same procedure a couple of weeks ago so obviously some doctor's do it differently...?

Hello all, MrsCB, so sorry to hear that the GT didnt go well. Fingers crossed it will go better for you this time. Did you eat something before doing it? I was told to eat a normal breakfast on the morning of the test, 2 hours before doing it. Maybe that would help? Had a scan last night and we saw our little bubs face for the 1st time! She has been very shy with all of our other scans and we have never been able to see her face but we got a good, clear view last night! WOW! Going on for 31 weeks now so will be soon to single digit countdown! How exciting is that!!! Hope you are all doing well x Glad you got to see you little girl :)

Thanks Mmmmmm let’s hope tomorrow goes well. The first time I had the test I had too fast for 12 hours, now I have been told to fast for 8 hours so last time I can eat is midnight tonight… But I am always in bed by 10pm anyway so it won’t be any different. I had a friend in the UK that was not able to do the drink and they then let her eat food high in sugar rather than the drink so I am going to see if I can do this is tomorrow doesn’t go well. Will let you know how it goes

Hi all, Thanks TDB and Bexter…really not looking forward to tomorrow to doing the sugar test again :( They said my fasting blood was normal so when I back tomorrow I just have to take the drink then do two blood tests rather than three. I have my 28 week check up today at the Welcare hospital and have a list of questions to ask so expecting it to be a long appointment. Bexter we are due the same time I am the 22nd December and having a boy so I am expecting him to come just as I am eating my Christmas lunch lol. Hope everyone else is doing well :)

Hi all, Poor MrsCB,nope next time is ok. I have mine on thurs morning too. Never done it before with other pregnancies so no idea how I'll react! Dangerous blonde, I haven't heard of the pain tou're talking about. I have pains down sides, especially at night, but think that's different. Hope you're well otherwise? Is everyone else ok? I think I may be behind everyone else. I can see Cocinella is due near me (I'm 23rd Dec) but when are the rest of you due? I think early Dec from sounds of things. I still have 12 ish weeks to go! There's some dispute about my dates but dating scan said 23rd Dec ao think that's likely. X

Hi Ladies Hope everyone is doing well… Lonely in Dubai & Coccinella78 welcome to the Group, if you read down the posts you will see my details to get in touch. I went for my glucose test yesterday and it was horrible. I got to the doctors at 8.15 am and had my blood taken then drank the orange drink they gave me. Within 5 minutes of drinking it I threw it up all over the floor.. it was so embarrassing as there were two other couples there and one lady was so kind she was rubbing my back as I was vomiting in the bin. I know have to go back on Thursday and really not looking forward to this. Starting the countdown to maternity leave and till I leave work, my last working day is the 29th November… so 9 weeks to go. :)
