orchard - i was induced but had DD naturally ... albeit after 26 hours and foreceps but no csection. Just hoping for my labour to start naturally this time as my body really wasn't ready last time and therefore things took ages. well, last night the pain in my pelvis and lower back got a lot worse. walking to the toilet had my eyes tear up... This morning there was more plug and now blood stained again (sorry tmi!) and needed help coming downstairs. Leaving now to the hospital - its my regular appointment but talking the bags with us!

OH WOW Fafasha!!! This is so exciting, but I know how frustrating it can be, I was there 6 weeks ago! I was also 3 cm when my doc examined me, and I opted for a sweep. I had more of less the same as you. I'm no expert but from my own personal experience yes it does seem like you are dilating more. Here in Dubai they do say that if you are 3cm dilated WITH contractions then yes you are in labour, but if you 3cm with no contractions, then you are not( in UK with DS they sent me home when I was 4cm and told to come when contractions become closer together). When I got my sweep with DD, I was 38 weeks, she did it on a sunday, had spotting and my mucus plug came out in bits, not in one go like my DS. then waters went on tuesday, again that was a trickle, it felt like I had wet myself, so I put a panty liner on to monitor it. And every time I coughed, laughed, more came out. Anyway long story short, went in and I was already 5cm but still no contractions. So you can still dilate with no regular contractions

btw - i noticed yesterday i had a big contraction and then went to the loo and there was a very big clear-ish gloopy lump (sooo sorry TMI!). Same thing happened the night before - big contraction and then very big lump. could this be more of the plug? could i be dialating more?

Thanks ladies... still pregnant! Having a second session of acupuncture tonight and then see my doctor tomorrow so lets see! Its amazing how everything can seem to be happening and then suddenly it all stops! Kinda wish they didn't examine me to see i'm 3cm on tuesday - ignorance is bliss :) Have a feeling my doctor might want to start helping things along after i see her tomorrow - was induced with DD so really really want this to happen as naturally as possible... but i guess this time I'm not starting from zero.

Very exciting. Just wanted to wish you all the best. Rest up, looks like you'll be a busy mummy pretty soon. Take care.

nope i'm on the sofa at home... still only lower back pain and pressure down. in fact i only remember i'm 3cms when i stand up. had a ctg this morning which showed v v mild contractions but nothing overly painful - just uncomfortable. kind of like the pressure you get when baby stretches too much. doctor appointment on sunday. i wonder if i'll make it!

I had an internal at 37 weeks and was dilated 2cm and experienced spotting afterwards. Still took another 3 days to reach the main event though! I [b'>think[/b'> the rule is that as long as the blood is brown-ish and not bright red, you're OK. But as mentioned, if you are concerned, always best to be cautious. How exciting - good luck!!

I've heard that it is, but if you're concerned, or if you have any other things that are bothering you, just go straight to the Dr again. I wouldn't know, because the only internals I ever had ended in a very surprised face and the midwife declaring I was 10cm!

On friday night i started vomiting randomly and then was fine afterward. Since then i've been feeling nauseous on and off and feeling a lot of pressure down and pelvic tightening. Been having lower back pain too especially in my tail bone... I mentioned it to the doctor at my checkup yesterday and she examined me - i was 3cm dialated. The examination killed and she was going to do a sweep but i said no. Since then i've been having brown spotting - i was induced with DD and remember the mucus plug being...well, mucus-y. is this spotting normal after an internal exam when you're dialated? thanks in advance ladies edited by farasha202 on 22/06/2011
