Hi ShijiCecil, Be aware that car seats must be chosen according to the weight (and height if possible) and not the age and groups are as follows: - Group 0/0+ - newborn to 10 - 13 kg - to be installed in the rear seat and rear facing - they should not be used in the front seat and NEVER with an airbag - Group 1 - 9 - 18 kg - they can be placed facing the road but if possible keep them rear facing - Group 1/2/3 - 9 to 36 kg but models were not good until recently (so, don't go for old models as they do not offer safety for all stages of a child development) - Group 2/3 - 15 to 36 kg - these usually have some elevation A website in my country, dedicated to the rights of consumers (it's a government / citizens rights inititative), often runs tests to different products to advise the customers properly. They do not test all the brands and brands there are different from here. I often use them for my 'important buys' and have been very pleased until now. I think they did not run tests for this recently but I still have the info I took for my baby and by then they recommended the following: Group 0/0+ - Britax CosiTot Premium + Isofix Base / Romer Babysafe Plus + Isofix Base Group 1 - Romer Duo Plus Isofix / Chicco Key 1 Isofix or Romer King Plus (if you are considering price) Hope it helps. Shop assistants here know nothing about car seats, believe. Do your searches first and you will see how much more you know than they do. The only guy I came across that knew what he was talking about was Louis (?) at Chicco (he was in Burjuman but I think now in Dubai Mall). However, I did not buy from them as they did not have the model I wnated and was taking too long. So, asked someone to bring one to me from home. Also don;t forget to check if the car seat fits your car because models are different and some chairs are not safe in some car models. Group 1/2/3 - Kiddy Comfort Pro Thanks a lot.....i`ll definitely do a proper study on the net and make the right choice. Shop staffs are just too ignorant about the stuff they deal in their section. Have had many experineces.

Just got an email from Just Kidding they are having a stand at MOE this weekend with 15% off of their carseats. Outside C4. But way cheaper if you can get someone to bring it from abroad i have mine arriving this weekend with the grandparents. Just check it in with the suitcases. Approx. how much difference in price to get it from abroad? In Dubai i think its around AED800/- to 1000/- range Check first with babyshop. They are cheaper normally. Limited colour range, though.

I did quite a bit of research before buying mine: Maxi Cosi are compatible with the largest number of prams: all Quinny's, Bugaboo's and Mamas & Papas models, as well as most of the brands sold at Mothercare and Babyshop. The safest car seat base is Maxi Cosi Family Fix.

I researched them on the net, and maxi cosi cabrio fix together with base came up as the safest one.

Maxi Cosi cabrio fix - extremly durable, very safe and if you have some of the popular buggies (eg Bugaboo) that the adaptors fix, they are a god-send when you dont want to wake a sleeping baby and can transfer them straight on to the stroller..... They also have great accessories such as the sun canopy, towelling cover to reduce sweat etc (all very helpful in our climate!) Hope this helps...

Like Novice, I recommend the Maxi Cosi pebble or cabriofix, they both are from birth until 12 mths with a high safety rating and easy to use. And, you can attach them to the stroller. I find the Chicco and Graco travel systems just so bulky but with the Maxi Cosi and a stroller frame it was more compact and lightweight.

Honestly, if I could go back I would just get a Maxi Cosi like everyone else.... There is a reason why they are so popular! :) Hi Novice, Whats that reason??? For me, that would be quality! I used Maxi Cosis for all 4 of my kids and they just don't break. I had a Graco and a Chicco also but to me it seems that after a while, they just fall apart (kind of). Maxi Cosis are very sturdy, easy to use, easy to clean, fit on several stroller systems, not too heavy or big, just perfect! Any particular model???
