Just a venting session....

Can someone please just rip my stomach and esophagus out temporarily while the progresterone goes to work and makes this baby!?!? Jimminey Petes! This stuff is horrible! I'm taking navidoxine, I'm eating only when I'm hungry, I'm using preggie pops, I eat crackers like there's no tomorrow. When will it end????
There better be some magic stopping hour on the first day of the 12th week! I can't take it anymore!!! :(

Ok, now I'm done :D

Kissymac, do you need a prescription for Navidoxine? I am toying with the idea of getting some but this week I am feeling slightly better, I am now almost 10 wks and i *hope* it's going away but a part of me feels it slightly early to be the case :( I discovered recently that if I avoid dairy in the mornings I can have a relatively good day, as in I can go all day with no vomiting (but still nausea). I had a bit of cereal the other morning and yoghurt another day and just couldn't digest them. BUT at lunch time I tend to eat cereal also (as it is Ramadan and I am eating in my office) and it makes me feel great. Funny hey? Fullofdreams, I just haven't felt well enough to visit the Herbal centre or anywhere else for that matter and I don't know how you did it! Thankfully as I am starting to feel slightly less sick I am starting to think about exercise, which is a step in the right direction! Might take a week or two to start though :):)

Oh Sparkly I feel for you I have been lucky really I have not been sick yet but feel it 24/7 at the begining it was worse in the mornings until mid afternoon now it is round the other way from about lunch time onwards. I am a little way in from of you at 11wks and 2 days but Ihave read that if you are sick it is a positive thing means healthy baby well thats what I have read. I tried everything but nothing helped and I hate ginger although I did try have you tried travel sick band? also acupunture people say really helped. I found it did help me for a couple of days after. I went to the Herbal centre in Zabel they are all great they are so lovely. The other thing that helped me is gentle exercise I know its hard but I go to the gym everyday or swim and aftewards feel better for it nothing hard just gentle. I am slightly differnt as this is a resuilt of IVF but it has really helped me. I hope this helps and you feel better :) I really hope you start to feel a bit better soon

Hi all, this is my first post but this really beckoned! I am currently 7 weeks with my first and I have had a terrible time over the past 2 to 3 weeks. I think it started slightly early, around 4.5 weeks, and came on strong. I bought some ginger lollies and they worked great with the nausea but didn't help me to eat anything. Started ginger tea and then went onto ginger root capsules. Nausea was improved but i think i had trouble digesting the capsules (ginger root is hard to digest I read), i felt so blocked up and vomited everything back up every evening. I fainted for the first time ever last week. Needless to say I stopped all ginger, as I now also hate the taste! and smell! and thought of it! argh I had gone about 1 week without a decent meal and thankfully I was able to eat like a normal person for about 2 days after that, like my body just HAD to get something. I find that if I start the day eating a few crackers in bed, then eat a light breakfast (like bread with jam) I can start the day off well. I eat dairy in small portions because it doesn't go down too well otherwise, and avoid meats as much as possible as I hate the smell. I answer to cravings if possible and feel better. I am constantly hungry so eat as much fruit as I can, and for lunch I eat salad and.. crackers. I also noticed my prenatal vits were making me sick. So i will change them this week. It's taken me about 3 weeks to get the hang of it, but I am still miserable from it. It's been the hardest 3 weeks I have ever been through!

Any others struggling to change #1's nappies while pregnant with #2? I'm 9 weeks pregnant and have to change about 5 stinky poop napies per day and even though it never bothered me before I really struggle with them now. Usually end up bent over and gagging for a couple of minutes. My DS thinks it's a game and have started mimicking the gagging and laughing - he loves it when I entertain him with funny noises ;) Any tips / remedies? I had bad morning sickness and most smells bothered me! I bought "sea-bands" during my first pregnancy and it didn't seem to do much, tried it during my second pregnancy and again it was no help!! I was so bad during my third pregnancy that I gave it another go and it was amazing. They are velcro (spl!!) bands with a smooth marble stone in the middle and you wear it on your wrist (marble side down) and it works on your pressure points. I had them on 24/7 and if there was a smell I realy couldn't stand then I would just apply some more ressure on them and then I was ok. They are mostly used for travel/motion sickness but they realy did help me :)

my cousin had acupuncture for morning sickness and it stopped it completely. I have a friend who went to see a British acupuncturist at synergy in umm suqeim and said she was really good and understanding. may be worth a try x

Thanks for the info Lilli34. I have reached 15 weeks and still have that lingering nasty taste in my mouth but I've narrowed down the causes...mostly sugar and wheat based products...hilarious I know. :D I am now just waiting for the big day though. Sooo for all those going thru the drama, there is some light at the end of the tunnel;)...I'm getting there, one day at a time... :)

I know I have nothing to complain about as I have not been sick but just feel it 24/7 even keeping me awake at night. I am the worst person to cope with feeling sick. Cant look at food dont fancy anything must have some thing though I am eating dried crackers and fruit but fruit is really high in sugar so dont want to over do it. Sorry just want to vent I wish I could be at home not sat at my desk :(

Don't drink Bitter Lemon or Tonic water while pregnant. They contain Qinine which when you research it can cause withdrawal symptoms in your baby, and it also stimulates the uterus which can lead to premature contractions. http://www.bfr.bund.de/en/press_information/2005/17/pregnant_women_should_steer_clear_of_quinine_containing_beverages_-6393.html I found Ginger Ale helped. Also try to eat small amounts frequently. Saltine crackers first thing when you open your eyes. Being hungry will make morning sickness symptoms worse. edited by Lilli34 on 13/06/2011

I can totally empathize with you after having morning sickness from week 7 to week 16 (I'm now 28 weeks). the thought of it still gives me the creeps but hang in there. It may seem never ending but it will. Crackers, ginger etc didn't work for me. In fact nothing seemed to ease it. I use to eat sour worms, or jelly sweets just to get rid of the bad taste after throwing up. Every1 told me by week 12 it should go away but just continued.....until week 16. Once it's over, you'll find a new found burst of energy....

I'm feeling your pain DC Diva! Navidoxine REALLY helped me (although it made me sleep like mad and always took about 2 hours to kick in). I'm at 11 weeks and 1 day now, and the morning sickness is really starting to ease although my appetite hasn't come back yet. (I cooked some chicken for my hubby last night and the nausea came back with a vengeance....) Hang in there, the end is almost in sight!! xx
