i was in the same boat for first 3 and a half months of pregnancy and now it has started again (32 week) you have to see what helps you. for me it was sucking on crystalized ginger or little jaggery or eating green grapes one by one very slowly. do not get into the habit of drinking any type of soda its not healthy for the baby. i have the travel bands too they helped me a little.

mine started days after conception but stopped by 9 weeks, so there is hope! Try to avoid an empty stomach and rest a lot, its much worse if you are tired. you can drink ginger tea ice cold, pour hot water over peeled sliced fresh ginger and leave it to cool, add some lemon juice if you want.

Barmy Army, I know exactly how you feel...I'm actually eating ginger biscuits as I type. I'm 12 weeks in 2 days and still have the dreaded morning sickness although mine is more on and off, i was fine all last week thinking it has gone and all happy but its back again this week. I can only drink freezing cold water or i wont drink it at all, and i cant stand cooked food, I can only eat ginger biscuits, apples, cheese, kiwis, watermelons and rice cakes, although today i've been put of rice cakes :( it doesnt taste the same. The only thing that helps me is eating breakfast and small meals throughout the day, maybe thats where i went wrong these two days. edited by UAE2012 on 03/03/2012

Anything you can stomach in tiny amounts, all day. Eat something small immediately before you go to bed and have something to nibble on before you get out of bed. I found the travel bands worked some days, not on others. Plain water was the worst thing I could drink. One pregnancy I could only tolerate room temp foods and drinks; another everything had to be ice cold...frozen grapes, mango and watermelon were lifesavers. I really think it's different for everyone. If your sickness is extreme...vomiting a lot so dehydration is a risk etc...there are really effective medications you can take. Like everything in pregnancy, don't take anything in the first trimester without your Dr's ok and only if the benefit outweighs the risk. Fingers crossed you'll wake up one day feeling amazing...I LOVE second trimester!

Also try pepsi or coke - let some of the bubbles go out of it first, and then take regular sips rather than drink lots at once. Other canned drinks can help to but cola tends to be most effective. Try and get lots of rest as well as this can be helpful.

If you cant drink hot drinks, try cold/room temp and flat Ginger Ale, worked a few times for my 15week sickness!!! Always try and keep your stomach full, nibble crackers or biscuits before you even get out of bed in the morning. I found Apples helped me, weird i know, but always kept away the metal taste from my mouth. The wrist bands were also a little help, but to be honest i found no miracle cure, its the slowest time of your life, but i kept reminding myself it would be worth it in the end! Goodluck with the rest of your pregnancy.

Hey Barmy, Travel sickness bands are supposed to be very good, if you can't find them in a pharmacy here you can order from Amazon. Ginger tea also supposed to be very good, can find recipes online, works better if you make it with fresh ginger rather than store bought tea bags x Good luck xx

Its actually all day sickness and really need some solutions for it. I'm only 6 weeks gone but don't think I can handle another day of feeling sick let alone another few months. Any help would be greatly appreciated ?
