all the stuff Kie said, plus go back to the old formula, you don't have to change to the stage 2 ones, the from birth are fine and many Drs recommend them over the follow-ons as they are closer to breastmilk.

DD also had a very bad constipation, she was 7-8 months old, when we introduced solid food e.g baby cereals and pureed veggies. It came to the point that her a*nus was really sore and in pain when straining. Her pedia prescribed an ointment for her sore a*nus and no carrots and banana. I gave DD pureed ripe papaya, avocado, plums, peaches and apricot and since then no more constipation. Till now pureed fruits (3-5 varieties of fruits high in fiber) is part of her diet.

Our pard suggested 1 teaspoon of sugar in some warmed water ... Works a treat, but only give once in week. Alternativleyspinneys has prune juice in juice aisle, mix 1 part juice to 5 parts water or bit more water and that too also gets things going!! Just be prepared for that one to work very well ;)

Squeeze the juice of a fresh orange and give to your little one, it works like magic for my DD. Change the formula you are using, i hear aptamil is great

my GP recommended water in a bottle with a few teaspoons of fresh orange juice in it...it worked...my son was on Aptamil too. duphalac has been used in our house with no adverse effects but not sure on one so young

Same trouble with my little girl - you can switch formulas. We are on Aptamil. Doc again swore it was the fact that she wasn't eating enough veggies but she was - so!! There you have it. Also speak to a pharmacy about a Lactulose solution - Duphalac is great and has helped my little girl feel much better. I just add it to her bottle of milk / water and its helped us get past the tears and strains! :)
