Hi ladies, just wanted to let you know that I had my ds at AW on Thurs and all went well. It was my 3rd cs (lol) so planned and quite straightforward. The anaesthetist was the same as lasst time and fantastic. He made me feel really at ease as did the OB. My dh was with me at all times (except for a short while in the recovery room) and he cut the cord. The bfing support was vg and lo was placed on my chest during the op. I was then able to bf asap in the recovery room. After the birth I stayed on a ward overnight but had the place to myself until around 5am when one other lady arrived.I was then transferred to a private room that day. I stayed there for 2 nights which was lovely and then got home yesterday afternoon.

All well now except that lo is a bit jaundiced and I'm finding the recovery after my 3rd cs a bit slower than the previous 2. Thankfully my dh is v supportive and looking after the girls while I recover and feed lo. Would love to know how to speed up healing though!

Anyway just thought I would share that with you. Hope all your pregnancies and babies are well. Look fwd to hearing more birth stories soon.

Emily

Congratulations! So pleased it all went well for you. The only thing I can suggest for recovery is MILK IT. I've only had one section but seriously, pretend you can do absolutely jack all and stay on the sofa. I stupidly let DH see I could get up and about and bam! In no time I was back doing the laundry and dinner :(. Ham it up! And enjoy your new arrival :D.

Congratulations! Sounds wonderful. After my CS a friend told me to take Arnica. Its natural meds, homeopaths and nutrition stores should have it. I got it from a homeopath. Its a bit of a pain to take, every couple of hours for a few days, but its meant to help with the healing of cuts and bruises. Not sure if it was because i took that or not but i got to the 50% better point very very quickly. Beyond that i took me a while and now at 3 months I'm still not a hundred percent (but thats probably because I'm a lazy piece of work that hasn't exercised at all ;)). Good luck with your recovery. And enjoy your baby.
