Hi Ladies

I have twin daughters who were born at 32 weeks and are currently in the NICU in the UK and will hopefully be home next week. I am now starting to plan our return back to Dubai next year in Feb when the girls will be approx 3 months old and would appreciate any recommendations for a Peadiatrician for the girls so that they can continue to have follow up care.

TIA.

Hello Congrats on the birth or your girls, my little boy spent quite a while at City Hospital NICU athough he was full term, the staff there are fantastic, I do know that Dr Azeim one of the neonatologists there holds a clinic for outpatients on a Tuesday afternoon, maybe that has increased to more afternoons im not sure but definitely on Tuesdays, words cannot describe how grateful we will always be to him, he went above and beyond the call of duty for me and not just my son, nearly three years later we are still in touch and his photo with my little boy has pride of place on my fridge. We also see Dr Nicholl for routine stuff, my ds does not need any specialist care any more, and he is also a fantastic doctor, either one your girls will be good hands, enjoy :)

I highly recommend Dr. Rais at City and Kids First. We have been going to him since discharge with our 26 week preemie he always replies backs to text messages does not over medicate and is very patient and comforting to new NICU mom fears. Kids First also has a great team of OT, PT and speech services which some preemies may need and is always good to have a specialized team close by. Good luck with their NICU stay and I hope they come home soon! edited by sami on 25/11/2013

Hi Big Blu, My little one was in NICU at City hospital and the neonatologists who looked after him were AMAZING! We have since had check ups with both of them and have again, been so impressed with them. Give them a try!

Hi SandstarQuen, congrats and hope the little ones are doing great! Perhaps some of the ladies with twins can provide more revelant suggestions but in the meantime, you could try reaching out to City and American hospitals who I am sure have neonatologists on staff and you could assess their profiles/ask for references on this forum. Alternatively I would probably reach out to a very experienced Dr who could recommend someone if they cannot take on the care themselves. Check out Dr Keith Nicholl (the clinic is under his name); he is very experienced and I believe he has been in Dubai for decades so if cant help you I'm sure he could suggest a few other Drs.
