I had spotting at 6 weeks, had a scan and was told to go home and rest. Two weeks later i had much heavier bleeding and was told the same. My pregnancy resulted in a healthy baby born on her due date. Bleeding can be a sign of implantation and is fairly common from what i have heard however take it easy and occupy your mind so as not to go insane with the worry. Best of luck.

orchard, did you have the spotting after going to the loo? Sorry for the TMI question :) but I had this at around five or six weeks and it was caused by straining to go to the loo (and I had horrendous constipation in my first trimester). Hope everything is OK.

Hi Orchard, how did it go? I hope all is well and it was just implantation bleeding. I was spotting with DD at 8 weeks for about 2 weeks and all was ok, but was devastated and thought of the worse. Let us know how it went.

Hi Orchard, I hope everything turns out well for you : ) I've had two experiences with spotting - the first was at around week 6 of my first pregnancy which resulted in a miscarriage the following week. Technically it was a "chemical pregnancy". In my second pregnancy, I also had spotting, in fact I had a light period for two days and I didn't even know I was pregnant at the time and only realised when I got to week 10 that there was a baby growing in there! Everything ended up being fine, the doctor explained that spotting can be entirely normal in a pregnancy for some women. Everyone's experience is different. Good luck : )

I had this with my second and not my first, best too check it out but try not to worry too much, seeing the doc will put your mind at rest, I did the same thing and all was fine.

I also had some light spotting in the first trimester. I never went to a doctor and nothing ever came of it.

it's considered to be normal, but as others said you better go and visit the doc. if you doc is busy, just go to the emergency section of hospital, there are normaly obgyn on duty, so they can make scan and check if bubs is ok

It is best to check in with your Dr for any type of bleeding. I had some bleeding too around 6weeks but it ended up into being a miscarriage. Good luck and see or call a Dr asap, dont wait for an appointment.

Hi Orchard, I had spotting around this time also, it lasted for about 2 weeks so I understand completely why you are worrying. I was back in the UK and managed to get a very early scan up at the hospital just to check that everything was ok, we saw the heartbeat which was amazing. I agree with Plumie you should go to a Dr and get it checked out for piece of mind if nothing else, mine was prob implantation but I'm sure that stressing about it made it worse!

It's always best to check out any form of spotting during pregnancy. However, saying that, implantation spotting is very common in the early weeks! But best let a Dr confirm this! Good luck and hope it is nothing serious x
