On the other hand, I already have a c-section scar and now I'll be torn "down there," worried about having a loose v, stitching, s e x after pregnancy and all that jazz I didn't need to worry about with my first. There is absolutely no reason why you should expect to tear "down there" - it's by no means a given, and a good midwife/ OB-Gyn who knows what they're doing can further help you avoid it. BUT as someone who tore both times (due to me being too eager to push and NOT listening to what my midwives were telling me to do), I can safely say that everything's still in perfect working order! Don't be afraid of the what-ifs - there's a completely different set for c-sections, because they're by no means light-hearted affairs either (even if they're billed as being the "easy option" here! Grr). In fact, there are more risks with a c-section (it being a surgical procedure) than with a normal, uncomplicated natural birth. <em>edited by Hello.Again.Kitty on 25/04/2011</em>

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I had a c-section with my four year old because he was a breech baby and we weren't risking complications. That was in Corniche Hospital in Abu Dhabi. We still live in AD and I'm already 9 months pregnant and the baby's position is normal this time around so I'm thinking it's a natural birth. I'm torn between having another c-section and the thought of limited babies. I want to decide for myself how manyI want, not be under mercy of my scar tissue for future pregnancies. On the other hand, I already have a c-section scar and now I'll be torn "down there," worried about having a loose v, stitching, s e x after pregnancy and all that jazz I didn't need to worry about with my first. It's literally keeping me awake at night but this baby will be born one way or another. God bless and thanks for reading. i had a csection first time around no choice, planned because of low placenta in the uk, and had my second here in corniche abu dhabi. i had extra scans to check the scar inside and had a normal delivery, no problems there at all no stitches etc.

I had a fantastic VBAC under Dr Elsa. She is fantastic and was very pro VBAC. Have heard many success stories from other ladies who went to her. If you can get in with her, you will e in the best hands possible. KB - I remember reading about your amazing VBAC experience with Dr Elsa and it truly inspired me! Am hoping to experience it one day too if all goes well with my next pregnancy :)

VBAC is absolutely do-able for many women. If it's something you hope for, 'shop around' for a good OB who'll keep you fully informed and give you your very best shot at getting the birth you want. (Hiring a doula for support would be beneficial too. :) )

TIA. i had a csection for baby 1 as it was low placenta and had no choice, but we did loads of extra scans for baby 2 and had him the normal way. so it really depends on why you are having the csection in the first place whether it will happen again.

I would have loved to have been able to have a 'normal delivery' after my firct c section - I tried for a while but for me it was not gonna happen. However, my SIL did and all was fine. I think if alls well and you can do it then it's fab. Equally if things don't work out then that's the way it should be. After 2 c sections when I was pregnant with my 3rd there was no option and I think that would be normal after 2 c sections so take the chance while you can.
