Kate Middleton gives birth to a baby boy

Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!

Kensington Palace has announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton have welcomed their third child, as the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby boy. The newest royal family member was born on an important day in English History, St. George's Day, on 23rd April at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. The same hospital where his big brother Prince George and big sister Princess Charlotte were born.

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge safely delivered her son at 1101hrs, as the baby weighs a healthy 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was by his wife’s side and present for the birth. Kensington Palace reported that both Her Royal Highness and her child are doing well.

Earlier today it was announced that the Duchess of Cambridge had been admitted to hospital in the early stages of labour, as the world eagerly awaited the arrival of the royal baby. The press and media gathered outside the Lindo Wing ahead of the birth, before the news was revealed.

Per royal protocol, an official announcement will be posted with the full details on an easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace. But, until then we’re delighted for the British royal family and their new addition, as Britain welcomes the fifth in line to the UK throne.

The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news! Any guesses on baby names?! We'll keep you updated on all the royal baby news...
