I was prescribed Clomid due to PCOS and not ovulating. We were very shocked and lucky because it worked the very first month!! When deciding to have a second child I underwent tests and again I was not ovulating. 1 month on Clomid and again pregnant. Result two beautiful DD!! Just had a check up due to (what Idetermined to be) strange things happeningduring my cycle. It turns out that this was a sign of ovulation and after further tests I now ovulate unaided! Not ready for the third yet, however hopefully we be able to have more fun trying next time!!! Good Luck!!!

As far as I'm aware, folic acid is only recommended pre-conception and in early pregnancy to prevent birth defects - I'm not sure it helps to conceive at all. I was prescribed Clomid as I had low progesterone so my doctor couldn't confirm I was ovulating. I got the prescription and put it away, planning to have a three-month break and then start trying with the Clomid when I'd give myself a bit of a rest. A month later I was pregnant. I still have it if you want it to sit in your cupboard for a while :D. If you're worried it might dry CM, try to get hold of some Preseed. It's meant to be the ideal lubricant to help the little swimmers along. I'm not sure you can get it here - it wasn't available when I was looking for it - but I'm off to the UK at the beginning of June and if you want to get some ordered to my Mum's, I'm happy to bring it back for you.

I tried clomid before..I don't know whether it didn't work as I wasn't religiously taking it..however, I do believe that if you start taking folic acid tablets, one every night, it will work *cross fingers* It did with me!!! It took about 3 months... then WHAM I got pregnant.. try that!! :D

Hi all - ive got pcos been trying to concieve for a while now and my gynae just put me on clomid - feeling quite depressed about the whole ttc thing - and would love to hear some happy successes stories? how long did it take you ? did you take any herbal supplements as well (heard it dries CM?) any other pointers? TIA ! x
