I have really inflamed tendons in my wrist from holding my baby and I'm now struggling to pick her up properly. Has anyone had this and know who I should see? I don't know whether it's best to see a physio, doctor or osteopath. Tia

Neurobion tablets helps. You get it at the pharmacy. Sore wrists is normal when its your firstborn. The second time it wont be that sore as your arms and wrists will be much stronger by then ;)

Many thanks for the information, I went to the doc who was next to useless and mentioned doing some calcium and vit d tests, I said it was obviously as a result of holding the baby but he didn't have a lot to say! I will look unto your man coconell, thanks

On more thing, the doctor suggested wrist/thumb supports at first, but the pain was so bad that I wanted a speedier solution. So, you could start with that? FYI

I don't know whether it's best to see a physio, doctor or osteopath. Tia I had the same thing with my little one. It sounds like "Mother's Thumb" or De Quervains. I got a cortisone injection and was back to normal in less than two weeks--the injection was a Godsend because, like you, I found it so difficult to pick up my baby. I saw a doctor (actually recommended to me by a lady on this forum). He was GREAT! Treated me right away without a bunch of tests are anything. Wrist support, ice packs, ibuprofen or similar drug and if continues to be too painful see a good orthopedic surgeon to give you steroid injection in the tendon.

I had bad wrist pain when DS was a few months old Saw a GP who prescribed Voltaren and I used a wrist band for a while Try blocking your wrists by putting more pressure on shoulders or elbows instead of wrists when handling the baby or other movements that would normally involve the wrists Hope it makes sense what I'm trying to say so late this evening... It's quite painful and makes our life as mums very hard Good luck ladies!
