Hi ladies,

The baby vaccinations at our local hospital are SO EXPENSIVE! I keep hearing that the vaccinations can be done for free somewhere. Is this true? Has anyone had them done for free? If so please leave some info on this for me! Thanks.

Hi ladies, I just got 3 month old DDs health card done today even though her passport and visa aren't done. The rule is as long as the baby is born in Dubai and the parents both have valid UAE Residence visas, the baby can get a health card and free vaccinations done. Just thought I'd let new moms know they dont have to wait for the baby's passport and visa to take advantage of the free vaccinations :D <em>edited by sourskittleashnut on 09/10/2012</em>

You can save a bomb by just taking your kids to the govt clinics who offer all the vaccinations for free! Just get them a Govt health card by registering them (go to the www.dha.gov.ae for guidance or call 800 342)..they will then assign you a clinic to visit according to which area you live in..you can then make an appt and take your kid there. I took my son for his 4 month vaccinations at mamzar clinic..perfectly lovely..modern and clean...nice nurse..no rush at all..and best of al - FREE! Thank goodness - at least SOMETHING is free in this country :) Just to add, you need to have a residence visa to get a govt health card edited by Ayda247 on 21/08/2012 i went to latifa hospital, paid dhs.100 for ds and dhs.300 for me (thought, why not?) and they assigned a clinic for us - satwa, behind the co-op. all ds's vaccinations have been free, except for the rota virus which i had done privately, and even those werent expensive. it was very easy as ayda247 says and definitely worth it. good luck!
