There is alot of toxins in the vaccines, and that is a fact. If you are referring to thimerosal, the mecury related preservative, please note this from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: "Which childhood vaccines do not contain thimerosal? Today, with the exception of some influenza vaccine, [b'>none[/b'> of the vaccines used to protect preschool children against 14 infectious diseases contain thimerosal as a preservative. " Living in Dubai with a huge ski dome and hundreds of 4x4's alot of toxins in the air here i imagine ;-)

Yet doctors here and in the US really push it. There is alot of toxins in the vaccines, and that is a fact. Dont go with mainstream media, they dont know what is best for your child. Only you do. Good luck and I hope you make the right decision for your child. I'm ok with people choosing not to vaccinate, there are risks with vaccines it's true. However if you do your research, do it thoroughly. Hep B can also be spread via saliva, my brother developed a natural immunity to hep b as a child, I can assure you he was not having s@x or using IV drugs at the age of 7 and yet he was still exposed. My uncle caught mumps as an adult and it took four years for my aunty to conceive as a result, a friend of mine has scars all over her face from chicken pox, there are risks to not vaccinating too and those who vaccinate do so to avoid those risks. <em>edited by kiwispiers on 08/04/2013</em>

Back in my home country I used to work in a paediatric hospital and did a few shifts in the ER. I'm not here to criticize anyone for the choices they make regarding their kids. After all, all parents want is the best for their babies. I just wanted to point out that by some parents choosing NOT to vaccinate their children- a lot of very old illness that are supposed to be irradiated in (1st world countries- anyways) are seeing a comeback. Even illness like Polio, whooping cough, scarlet fever ect... and yes these illness can be deadly for young infants. I've vaccinated my son, some vaccines I chose to do later and some not at all. I don't believe in the chickenpox vaccine for example and I chose not to vaccinate him for TB just yet (he's 2) but he's had all of his other ones on time and it gives me some comfort to know that he's protected. I feel in dubai we are exposed to so many people from so many different countries and god knows what illness we are being exposed to. So all I have to say is- make informed decisions and work with your paediatrician to see how you can space out your vaccines but I personally would never NOT vaccinate. I've seen too many sick babies who've lost their lives.

Hello Gujji, Sorry I cant really help you either but my daughter is five and we've been in Dubai since she was one AND she's been in school here since she was three AND she's NEVER had a vaccination. She's never had any problems enrolling in school. She doesn't have a regular pediatrician however. I just take her to the closest doc whenever she needs to go. Doctors seem made to scare the living day lights out of you. You should definitely do your research though (if you haven't already done so) on vaccinations. I will personally never understand the logic behind injecting toxins directly into the bloodstream, especially that of an infant/child. But you MUST do your research and be informed as Tattie Bogle says :-) I don't suppose your daughter has needed a pediatrician because she is being protected by those who have been vaccinated. The diseases for which we vaccinate against are truly horrific and to not vaccinate is irresponsible . It is required by the MOH here to vaccinate our children before school entry, so you owe it to us to share the names of schools that are accepting non vaccinated children. Sorry for the rant, but there is no logic behind your decision, only defiance.

I find vaccines are totally pushed by doctors here, without checking if the child could suffer serious side effects. Some people choose not to vaccinate, and I fully understand that the parents made an INFORMED choice. Some people choose to space out the vaccines and also wait until their children are a lot older (immune system is better developed at 4 years for example), and that I also find acceptable, as it was also an INFORMED CHOICE the parents made. Before making any decisions please bear in mind that the UAE has a truly global workforce which includes people from countries where diseases are prevalent that are not in our home countries. While you may think that there is no need to vaccinate, the diseases have been irradicated in our home countries because of these vaccinations. Choosing not to vaccinate your child in a part of the world which hosts people from all over the world, you are opening your child (and effectively the children around them) to these diseases. You would also find it hard to enroll your child in a school/nursery, as they are supposed to ask for your vaccination certificate on enrolling. (Not lecturing or pushing you towards a decision but just asking you please to research!)

It doesn't really matter what your paediatricians views are regarding vaccination, you simply need to decide which vaccines you want and advise them appropriately, they can't force you to do otherwise. I really wouldn't use that as my criteria for picking a paediatrician. I think perhaps what you really want us a paediatrician who is happy to be collaborative in general, rather than dictatorial? I have a great paediatrician, unfortunately I am in doha, not Dubai.
