Hope everyone is gearing up for the weekend :)

I am heading to Thailand soon and need a french manicure that would last 3 weeks.....My Gelish lasts me just over a week no matter where I get it done. Bio sculpture max 10 days - tried it thrice at three different places..my nails are weird that way. What are the other options - acrylic? silk? Never tried these before...Would they last 3 weeks? if yes, which is the best place to get them done?

I go to The Nail spa and I like Essie's gel polish. It lasts about 2-3 weeks for me, even though I'm constantly washing dishes and using my hands, it stays pretty intact.

KOKO nails. Amazing, amazing paint! It NEVER chips, even when a day old pedicure had a toe nail turned backwards in the gym. Yes. That good. It looks freshly done even after 2 weeks. My salon owner showed me her week old manicure and told me she cooks at home, has a tiny baby and another young one and it looked like she had just got it done. She told me people insist on Essie so she has started keeping the brand, but once I have used Koko I won't be going back to wishy washy Essie. Essie has a good color range but the paint itself is weak and thin and needs coats and coats to get it to look like the color in the bottle. Koko on the other hand needs 2 coats and you are set for 3 weeks. Love it! edited by Chocobella on 02/05/2013 which saloon was this?

At NP in Marina they have Koko, Shellac, OPI and Essie, but i still prefer Koko. And my Gal is Baba, quite terrible english but fantastic jobs...

For 3 weeks acrylic or gel is your best bet. I personally prefer gel but have used acrylic in the past too. They both look gorgeous.

I have gel now for about 17 months now. I don't think I will ever go back :). I get a fill every 3-4 weeks and once the nails are done, I forget about them. My Gal is Sahida at the Chelsea Plaza (used to be Rydges hotel) at the Satwa Roundabout. She does a fab job, they are not thick and the price is right :)

I used to get the gel done at the nail spa and that would last 3-4 weeks and I always forget to wear gloves when I was washing up. Plus I have a hands on job which involves lots of hand washing throughout the day. I found it lasts yonks and love having nails which always look freshly done. Am taking a break at the mo' to give my nails a rest but looking at their pale uninteresting state I would love them to be all shiny and bright again...p.s. nail polish on my hands last about 3 seconds after I'm out of the salon but lasts for weeks on my toes, probs coz I don't type/eat/wash etc. with my feet

Gellish does not last for me too, but Nail Spa with Essie polish never chips and goes on for weeks.....saying that, it is only toe nails though.
