It's probably the weather but I need to wash my hair every single day or it gets so oily it's embarrassing...
Any good shampoo that you have tried???

I've had this issue for as long as I can remember. On a friend's recommendation I tried Lush, their purple shampoo bar, and while it worked like magic stripping away the grease, it also stripped my already fine hair of body and resulted in flyaway hair. I then tried their blue shampoo bar, that weighed my hair down so it clung to my scalp. Finally, and this works wonderfully, Lush Big shampoo that comes in a jar and Retread conditioner. Makes my hair free of grease, but does not weigh them down, nor makes them light and flyaway, just clean, fresh, beautifully scented hair. I keep sniffing them lol! Usually stays that way for at least 3 days. Another thing I noticed was, my hair is curly and fine, and tend to puff up as curls do, which is great for my falling out hair, and after a night of sleep, with any other shampoo no matter how much they get lifted up and volumized, they tend to stick to my scalp in limp waves the next day. With Big, they retain their bounce even after a couple of days of wash. Brilliant stuff! <em>edited by Chocobella on 25/09/2013</em>

I use Himalaya's Gentle Baby Shampoo. It really works for me. Earlier my hair would turn oily every other day now it has gotten better. You get it in most stores in the baby section. <em>edited by aa5207 on 22/08/2013</em>

Ladies, would you please advise where I can find the suggested shampoos? Neutrogena & Nizoral - are they available at the pharmacy? I don't recall seeing Kerastase here either. Thanks so much. kerastase i have seen in marina mall and dubai mall Thanks Leena. Is there a booth/shop which sells Kerastase products or was it in a pharmacy or cosmetics shop. Sorry for being thick, it's just the malls are big. ;-)) Hi In marina mallll ground floor .just near mother care out entrance ,there is a saloon i have seen they sell .Just have a look.I will check by this weekend if i pass by to dubai mall where it is exactly Ok, that's fine. Agree with the shampooing-twice gambit, but when you use expensive shampoo, it can get pricey. ;) That said, I recommend Kerastase. I've used it for years -- shampoo and conditioner and occasional leave-in 'treatments' too -- and it's worked like a charm. Don't be fooled into NOT using conditioner; it won't make your hair more oily but will restore the 'good' moisture back into it. PS. I'm not sure how old you are, but changes in environment and increase in age do result in having to adopt a different shampoo schedule. In my 20s, I had really 'greasy' hair and I was washing every day, but now in my 40s? Once a week with no 'oily' issues. Hi which leave on treatment u use?

Try this, just shampoo using your usual shampoo and after that take your conditioner put the required amount to a cup and add 1-2 teaspoons of baking powder and mix it and apply to ur hair(not to sclap) as u do conditioner and wash it off.it can calm the grease and it will look fresh for 2-3 days.

Thanks ladies, well I'm closer to my 40's than my 20's lol I was reading that hormones are also a major reason for oily hair, and I had a change of contraception earlier in the summer...This might be the reason...

I can feel your pain as I have been washing my hair every day for 20 years and the only thing that slightly made a difference was Neutrogena special shampoo, the one in the clear bottle that is formulated for oily scalp, its not their regular shampoo so a tad more expensive. Otherwise Nizoral once again specifically to target oily scalp...regular shampoos just dont work-at least for me. But Im having to use them, I also only put conditioner on the ends of my hair rather than scalp as thats greasy already. Shampooing twice also makes a difference.
