What are the pros and cons of getting residency as non-working spouse
Ladies!
I'm curious of the pros and cons of getting residency. I had residency years back but after a recent relocation back to sunny Dubai last month, I am left wondering if I should bother with residency. My spouse is the one working with residency.
So...all of you Dubai experts...can you tell me what I have to gain or lose?
1) I know a visa run costs about 85aed and a 2-3 hour trip. We have a vehicle so no bother with hiring a company. Can get travel insurance for medical while I am here...which is not costly.
2) On the other hand it is about 1,100aed to move my status over in-country to residency, plus around 300aed for the Emirates ID plus having to get medical insurance (usually paid upfront for entire year)
What other possible benefits would there be to getting residency? Any benefits to being a "tourist?"
Thanks!!
