Hi

Can anyone recommend which is the better option to go for? I'm considering Invisalign...it is more expensive but I'd like to know if it gives the same result as classic "train track" braces?

Anyone had invisalign? How was the end result? Are they worth it?

Any thoughts will be really appreciated :)

Thanks

As someone who's done both I can tell you without a doubt that Invisalign is the way to go if you can afford it. I had regular braces when I was younger but I never wore the retainer so my teeth moved back. When I came to Dubai a friend of mine recommended Dr. Basel Mofti at Versailles Dental Clinic. One of the best experiences I've had dealing with any dentist. Super friendly and takes the time to explain everything in detail and also quite reasonably priced at least compared to London ( it was around AED 20k with monthly installments). IMO it's definitely worth it and I would highly recommend doing Invisalign with him.

Hi... my daughter had her braces done few year ago ... i think the dr did it to early she was in grade 6 ... Her teeth started to move again and needed another stage ... Decided to do the invisalign since she's very responsible ... she was 14... it was a great experience... the only thing is u should be careful not to loose it..because u have to take it off when u eat.... and brush your teeth after anything u eat or drink except water... Good luck

Invisalign is only really good if you don't require major alterations. I went the traditional train track route, as it works much faster. Just bear in mind that whichever you use, you WILL need retainers afterwards. As an adult, get the permanent ones put in. If you don't use them, all your teeth will move back and it will have been a waste of time. FairyDust - Just a few questions: How long did you keep the train tracks in for? Did you have any speech difficulties with the retainers and are they difficult to clean? Thanks I had train tracks top and bottom for 9 months - you get used to having a bit of a lisp and it goes away after a while. What many people don't tell you is that braces HURT!!! Especially when you change up the wires to more rigid ones, but they're heat activated, so sipping ice cold drinks of sucking on ice lollies helps. Retainers? No, because I have permanent ones cemented behind my teeth top and bottom. They need a bit of attention when cleaning your teeth, but I forget they're there most of the time. Thank you Fairy Dust for your feedback. I remember when I had them the first around they hurt, that's why I was hoping for an alternative but if this is the quickest root...... actually the permanent retainers don't look so bad as I thought now I have searched them online. I remember a friend had them circa 2003 and they looked awful in those days. Thanks for sharing.

Hi 5hy, I went the Invisalign route - best decision I made. You don't feel self conscious at all unlike regular braces. But it's not suitable for everyone, is more expensive and does take longer. I now have a wire retainer behind the lower front teeth and, like FairyDust said, I forget they're there :)
