Residents should avoid leaving their dirty cars in public, Dubai Municipality warns

Earlier this week, the Dubai Municipality warned residents via Instagram that leaving their dusty, unkempt vehicle in public parking spaces will incur an AED 500 fine.

According to Dubai Municipality, residents doing so can harm the aesthetic appearance of the emirate. Inspectors will be targeting cars that have visible signs of long-term disuse: dirty, dusty, vandalised, damaged, and if it hasn't been removed from its spot for a long period of time.
Municipality inspectors will leave a notice on the car's windshield informing drivers that they have 15 days to clean the car. Failure to do so will result in the vehicle being impounded.
The owner must contact Dubai Municipality to pay the AED 500 fine, or else the vehicle will be put up for auction.
