News of Reduced Speeds on Two Dubai Motorways

UPDATED (30th March): Officials have actually backtracked on an earlier decision to cut the speed limits on two of the UAE's most dangerous roads, the National has reported.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) had said that the speed limits on both Emirates Road (E 611) and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E 311) would drop to 110kph, with a radar trigger of 131kph.

It was originally revealed by news sources that the Dubai Police and the RTA had decided that the limit should fall on both roads in an effort to improve safety for all drivers, but it was later downplayed, with authorities saying that discussions have not yet been 100% agreed.
