Dr. Ralf Herwig
Over 25 Years of international experience in the Field of Urology and Andrology
He started his medical career while working in the red cross (red crescent). He completed his studies in Münster/Westfalia, Germany and Dublin, Ireland (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Coomb Hospital, James Conolly Memorial Hospital) and was fully trained in general surgery (colorectal, vascular, chest, surgical intensive care, plastic-hand-trauma surgery) and urology / andrology at the University Clinic of the Westphalian Wilhelms-University Münster /Westfalia.
Dr. Herwig was Head of Andrology at the University Clinic in Innsbruck Austria from 2000 to 2005, than he took over the Head of Andrology from 2005 to 2014 of the Medical University of Vienna. From 2014 on he is Head of Urology and Andrology of the Vienna International Medical Clinic.
He is Editor-in-chief of the Genitourethral Reconstruction Section of the BioMed Research International Journal. He is the organiser of the Vienese Symposium of Reconstructive Surgery and is the author of various books about urologic emergencies, urological traumatology and Erectile Dysfunction and has published over 90 international peer-reviewed scientific publications in various journals.
Furthermore, he has invented various patents concerning innovations in medicine such as surgical retractors, diagnostic tools and new medications.
