Look at the remote, or the box on the wall that operates the remote opening of the door. We have an Amarr door but the remote control box on the wall is from SOMMER, a German company. The remote itself wasn't very useful. If you also have a SOMMER control, and need a new remote, try calling Mohammed - 050 830 6739 - who works for SOMMER Mohammed came to my house in The Meadows, at 8.30pm on a Thursday evening (Feb 2012), only a few hours after I rang him (the timing was his suggestion - I had no emergency) and provided and programmed a new remote control for AED 300. He arrived with his wife and 2 beautiful children! Before he left I made sure that both the new remote from Mohammed, and the old one we still had, both opened and closed the door. Mohammed then left but we later discovered 2 new problems: 1 the wall button no longer worked, and 2 the light, which stays on for a few minutes after entering the garage to allow you to get out of the car and into the house, was flashing on and off, all the time, day and night. So I recommend that before he leaves that you also check that the button on the box on the wall will still open and close the door too. We found programming instructions online and sorted it. The online instructions also confirmed that when programming in the new remote the light will flash, non-stop, instead of switching itself off after a few minutes, but once the new remote has been used to open and close the door a few times it should revert to the normal timed lighting function and no flashing. Ours did.
