Morning Ladies

Last year I had a serious of anxiety attacks which I underwent counselling for. Well, i again went to another counselor yesterday and started another treatment for which i do not have a lot of confidence. My anxiety attacks only seem to be when i am driving and i seem to phase out and the fear of losing control, not good. Has anyone experienced the same or can recommend so treatments that have been successful. Have to sort this out as is having a massive impact on my day to day life.

My friend in the UK had a car accident and was having similar problems to the ones mentioned below. She was really down about it. She got help help from a hypnotherapist who lives in Dubai and is now able to drive without any real problems. She recommended this woman to me, her name is Candice, and I saw her last year for weight loss/fitness and she was great! Explained everything to me beforehand and was very friendly. I'm still at my target weight now :) Her website is: www.dubai-hypnotherapy.com

i went through a horrendous car crash a few years ago: http://britneyofarabia.blogspot.ae/2010/01/crash-bang-wallop.html as a result had a big car phobia. earlier this year i met with dave crane and had one session with him. the guy works wonders. i am still occasionally nervous but 100% improved. http://thelifedesigners.com/ I actually posted on here to get advice and he was recommended.... good luck, you don't need to suffer with this. ETA my rushed typos! edited by kelly1814 on 24/03/2013

Hi SWK, I'm really sorry to hear you are going through this, as I can really sympathize. I'm someone who is prone to depression/anxiety and have recently had a bout of anxiety or depression (not sure which) that manifested itself as pure terror while driving. When I eventually realised what was happening to me I couldn't believe that my perception was so warped. I was convinced that the car was falling apart, the wheels were going to fall off, the steering wheel was going to come loose, the breaks would fail, my perception of how close other drivers were was completely off. It was really scary and went on for about two/three months before I realised what was actually happening, while forcing my poor self to do the length of SZR twice a day! For me, medication has helped enormously, but I'm quite a fan of pill popping when necessary. I don't really have any advice, but just letting you know that you are not alone. FFx
