Went there a couple of years ago with friends and stayed overnight. Had a great time. Nice to get some real mountain air.

I was there this week but just for lunch with visitors. We had their curry of the day which was a prawn curry and it was one of the best curries I have had here! I always think the hotel looks tired and would never stay there more than a weekend but they have made lots of changes there - the rooms are supposed to be nice and it's lovely to be in the peace and quiet and the air always seems fresher there. Not desperate to stay there as I love Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah but based on my lunch the other day I would probably do an overnight there now and especially as it's being so highly recommended on here too!

we went for a night just recently with 2 young kids, booked 2 interconnecting rooms...don't expect super stylish, but the rooms are spacious and its beautifully quiet, and also colder than Dubai when we went! food ok, order the curries for dinner. staff extremely helpful and welcoming compared to the multi starred hotels in dubai!! overall its a nice escape and has a nice down to earth feel about it. definitely need either passports or ID cards for the check points. enjoy!

We spent three nights there last July and loved it. Our three children are very young and it was perfect as a low key, stress free get away. The facilities are a little dated but that adds to the relaxed feel. The rooms are gorgeous though!! Recently refurbed and very, very nice indeed. Food was ordinary but filling....oh, except for the Indian/Asian dishes. Indian head chef while we were there did REALLY good food from his homeland. :)

So this could be a reason to make ID cards.....you may get asked more and more for them.

Went there some time ago after a visa run and it was very nice. Tried to go on last Saturday for lunch and were stopped at a new (to us) police checkpoint several kilometres short of Hatta, just after Madam. I had no id with me so were turned back with scores of other people. What? No ID cards in your purse? Mmm, old brain memory problems, lesson learnt:(

It's great if you fancy a relaxing weekend away from Dubai. The hotel was refurbished a few yaers ago and the rooms are nice and spacious.

we had a night there about 27 years ago. It seemed nice. ETA my Mom says the pool was always too cold. I cannot remember it. edited by Chick Chick on 02/02/2011

We had a night there about a year ago when they were doing one of their all-inclusive deals and had to do a visa run anyway. Food was very good, in fact we couldn't eat all three meals that were included - we just had dinner and breakfast. Adults only pool was a nice touch, and we were very impressed with the delux chalets. Can't say if I'd do it again unless we needed to go to Hatta, but certainly enjoyed the peace and quiet and change of scenery.
