We have been using smartmaids but they are charging 75 durhams for taxi on top of 40 per hour for babysitting at night. Is this a common price? Seems a lot for a taxi. Does anyone have any experience with babysitting at night in arabian ranches.

40 per hour is about average price for babysitting. The cheapest you will find nowadays is 35 but sometimes they are incompetent so if you are happy with the quality of service you are getting for 40 then it's fine. The days of 20 per hour are long gone. 75 for the taxi seems steep especially considering that you pay around 65 from Arabian ranches to the airport. Try finding out what area their housing is in. It's possible that they overcharge as a standard practice and keep the extra rather than billing the exact cost of the journey.
