My DS wants to order one of the Bear Grylls knives and get it delivered here .We have found a company in UK who will deliver but looking at the Dubai Customs website ,it needs to be declared on arrival .
I just wanted to check with anyone who might know that this would all go smoothly and I wont find myself paying for something that will never get to us.
Thanks

just thought I would update on this in case anyone else interested for the future. I ordered the knife from a UK website ,they posted it to our PO box which is DH's work .It arrived a week later ,no hold ups and was in use by my DS that evening. And it was only 15.00 gbp for delivery which I thought was a bargain.

[i'>but all this 'I'm all alone in this hostile wilderness, I could die out here' stuff ...[/i'> Well, all alone apart from the camera man, and the techie, and the catering truck, and....... On saying that, I met the guy recently and he is an absolute hoot. Away from the cameras he sends hinself up all the time :) edited by mrsg on 05/10/2011

What kind of knife is it? There are quite a few tactical shops here that might do something similar. He's a bit overrated that guy to be honest. Sleeps in the wild my backside, he spends most of his shoots in hotels! edited by Chocs01 on 04/10/2011 That's why I can't stand the man! Granted he's done some impressive stuff in the past but all this 'I'm all alone in this hostile wilderness, I could die out here' stuff is just total cr*p, he's such a fake on his TV shows.

I keep telling DS that he sleeps in hotels but he just dismisses that as a one off . Although after watching an episode with him and Jake Gyllenhall (sp?) I have to confess I was suckered in and impressed.

You just don't know. Depends who checks the package. You might have to take a trip to the cop shop to explain why you're bringing it in, as my friend did.

thanks for the reply . There doesnt seem to be a problem with bringing it in to the country as the website states as long as it is declared it is permitted . I assume the sender will have to declare what is on the front of the parcel .I just wanted to be sure Im not going to end up paying something extra to get it released as it were .

Can't you call customs and ask? Tricky one. A friend recently had some 'military' type stuff sent to him, not weapons wise, but they were very funny about it. edited by Chocs01 on 04/10/2011
