Funny I was also looking for it this week! I couldn't find the right meats for feijoada ( a black bean stew, recipe from Brazil) in Canada, but had plenty of black beans - now I have the meats, but no beans! It's a conspiracy!!!! :\:

Hi Coffeegal -- I like the screen name. Safestway generally has a large supply of black beans -- everywhere else seems to be hit or miss. ...black beans are my favorite for everything burritos, chili, soup -- YUM.

Look for cannelini beans or white beans instead of butter beans, much the same. I am the bean expert it seems!

They seem to appear and disappear randomly at Spinneys and Waitrose. They'll have loads of them when I go, but then the next week, none. so now any time I see them I hearde them.

I always grab a few tins when I see them! I find them at Carrefour express at Oasis Centre occasionally and at Lulus. Usually a bargain at about 1.50 each!

I remember seeing them somewhere, think it may have been Safestway and or Waitrose, perhaps you could call up those stores and ask. edited by Di@DXB on 31/07/2011

I can't seem to find Black Beans in Spinnys or Geant. Has anyone seen them at any of the shops here? I have a great recipe for a black bean salad that I want to make.
