Has anyone booked a flight for another person on www.cleartrip.ae using a credit card that is not in the travellers name? I want to book a surprize flight for my hubby but use my credit card, is this possible without hubby having to show my credit card on check in??

I took the chance and booked it anyway as there was nothing written in the booking conditions like there usually is, I will just send him off with a photocopy and passport copy and hopefully that will suffice. Anyone looking to go to London for Xmas, cleartrip have a reasonable offer with Royal Brunei, the dates I booked were 23rd Dec to 2nd Jan and I paid AED 2,495 return and they are direct flights.

It depends on the airline some have the policy that the credit card holder must be present at check in with original card, others say a photocopy is fine, others you can go to their tickecting office and show your card prior to flight and they put a note in the system other airlines don't care. Best to check with the airline that your booking with.

I don't know, but interesting that you ask the question just as the site has CC money back offer on. However, the site flight prices are quite a bit more than if you book with the airlines direct!

I've never used cleartrip, but 've bought flights for other people several times direct from the airlines themselves (DH and Mum respectively) and never had any problems ith them not having my card.
