Have seen advertised often on the Job page but I think the salaries are really low - the latest one has lots of requirements and duties listed, and the salary is only 9300 all inclusive. Is this normal for Embassy work?

Hasn't everybody realized that salaries are generally very low in this country? If you won't work for that salary, someone else will. absolutly ! the majority of admin staff in the offices get under 5 K working full time and even 6 days a week.

Probably depends on the skills required for the paticular job whether or not sponsorship is offered. If it is an admin job why would they need to fork out for it? Also, being British is neither a requirement or advantage. Nope - the job they called me for was a PA job and it was about a quarter of what i currently earned - hence the laughter :D

Not even sponsorship?! Crikey! So I guess everyone working there must be either local or female (and on husband's or father's visa?) Shame really as I'd love to work at the Embassy and have thought about applying many times.

I always wonder too! The salaries are always low on advertised jobs. I wonder if perhaps you get free accommodation or anything to compensate? And here's me thinking civil servants earn a shedload! Ha! If only! There are no hidden extras. These advertised jobs are all local hire and do not come with sponsorship or perks.

I got offered a job in Al Ain last week as 'Head Librarian' at a school. They offered me 3000 a month? Needless to say I turned the job down!
