so glad I found this thread! I want to buy DD books but Amazon shipping was coming too much and books in Dubai are just overpriced. Thanks for sharing ladies :)

Hi all, if you are interested there's also betterworldbooks.com , they are located in US and also offer free shipping. They sell New and Used books, all kinds you can think of. Specials, discount coupons and bargain bins are some of their features (just look up betterwolrd discount coupon online and use it, they are available if you google it). The only drawback to the free shipping is that it can take upto a month to get here, but if you are looking for an expensive book and want it used then this place rocks. And if you do want your books faster you can get the paid shipping. I have been ordering from them and BD for many years now. And by the way, regarding BD, I have noticed that if you order all the books you want in one transaction they will take time to arrive, but if you order each book separately they arrive within a week or so. Just my 2 cents here.

I have a large order in my trolley already and might just hold off for the sale now :). Can anyone clarify do I give them my apartment address here or my PO Box address? I have read conflicting things. Thanks They use local postal systems rather than courier so use your PO Box address. The was a thread a week or so back where the poster had used her street address, some books made it to her, some didn't.

Greetings all, a newcomer to this forum and happy to join you. I can vouch for BD. I have been ordering from them for several years now both in Dubai and previously when we lived in Switzerland. A very satisfied BD customer! I get mine delivered to our PO Box so would not know otherwise. edited by looksee on 08/11/2012

Will they deliver to an apartment? Or do I need to use a PO Box (annoying as packages get sent down to Al Wasl!)

Just heard Book Depository have one of their 24 hour sales starting at 4pm our time today. It's quite addictive as they add a new book on the hour, every hour for 24 hours. Last time I picked up some great kids books and recipe books too, and they were about 70% off (and free shipping). It's gonna be a long night! http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/
