Camping in hotel grounds in Oman

We are looking at a camping trip with a few families with young children and would like to break us in gently. Can anyone recommend a hotel which allows you to camp on it's grounds (on the beach preferably) and utilise facilities. I know there is one in Oman but just can't find it!
Alternatively, a beach within 3 hours drive of Dubai which doesn't get over run in the evening?
