Hi, I have found a maid/driver who I'd like to employ as a live-in. She has a school age daughter who would also live with her/us. She is currently under her husband's sponsorship and wants to remain under it, I think because otherwise it will be difficult for her daughter to be sponsored here otherwise. Question is, is this legal and if so, what is the process I need to go through re work contracts etc? I don't want to be doing something illegal. Thanks in advance

Thanks very much - I rang the DNRD this morning as well who said the same. Back to the drawing board I guess!

Thanks in advance No she is not allowed to work as a maid under her Husbands visa. It is illegal and you could incur a huge fine employing her and if she steals from you etc then you have no come back as you would be employing her illegally The only way she is allowed is through an agency or if you sponsor her directly. Not worth the risk
