Can only advise on lost Australian passport - it is not a fun process Ditto with a British passport. It actually says on the official website that they will not issue a replacement for a lost or stolen passport without first making "exhaustive enquiries", so it's not something that happens quickly or easily. British citizens can get emergency travel documents from the consulate if they can prove their need (TBH, simply wanting to go on holiday probably wouldn't be considered an emergency), but you also have to go to the central immigration place near Bur Dubai police station to get an exit pass.

Can only advise on lost Australian passport - it is not a fun process. Involves going to the police, obtaining report, going to immigration department, Dubai courts and public prosecution and then back to the police. Then if you work here you need to get your company to cancel your visa and sort out getting a new visa for when you come back in. Not sure if you can get emergency passport if you need one unfortunately all goes via Germany so may take time. Hope you find it as I really feel for you if you need to go through the above!

Hi Can't find it all at home and really am not sure if I left it somewhere as ID.last seen in my bag 6/7 weeks ago. Have no live in maid only cleaner. Have searched all my usual places and others. What is the process and how urgent,as I do not wish to start a paper nightmare and it turns up tomorrow-British passport. Ironic thing is it is practically full and I was putting off sending it to Germany due to current delays!
