Hello

Just wondering if anyone who lives in springs 2 and owns a cat is having a problem with a big tabby cat coming in to their yard and trying to fight their cat CONSTANTLY???

My cats love being outside but this cat is always coming into the yard and starts fighting them. They're now so scared it will be outside they spend most nights sitting at the door looking for this cat instead of going outside themselves. I can't let them go in and out as they please and definitely can't leave them outside for even a short amount of time if I'm not home because of this cat.

I have tried chasing it away, yelling at it, squirting it with water, even through a bucket of water at it once but it is so bold and quick it runs when it sees me but comes back 5 minutes later.
It is driving me and my cats absolutely crazy!!!

I have spoken to it's owner but she didn't offer any practical suggestions on how to solve the problem.

Just wondering if anyone else in springs 2 is having a problem with this cat and knows how I can get it to stay away!!!

The cats owner needs to take responsibility for her cats behaviour. I am a big cat lover, but we recently had a cat coming in to our kitchen every night and wee'ing over everything. The final straw was when it wee'ed up against my babies bottle that was standing on top of the microwave. The following night i waited up for it, with a broom stick in my hand ;-) It never came back;-) Cruel, maybe (although I didn't hit him as hard as I'd have liked to) but i had had more then enough of disinfecting my kitchen from top to bottom every morning. And closing the window was driving my very "talkative" cat nuts which was waking up the whole household. Though, because u know the owner, I'd go to her first and ask her to take responsiblity. Thanks for the warning, I'm moving to Springs 2 at the end of August and bringing my cat, he's quite timid since he got hit by a car (has a wonky back leg as it didn't heal back properly), so will keep an eye out for the big cat..although will be keeping him in for a bit :)

No, my cats stick to the garden or stay inside. We never really see any other cats coming to the garden, but then we have a dog as well. The owner really needs to take responsibility. Is it neutered? edited by Chocs01 on 10/08/2011
