Mr. Jeeves, can you please give me details on your prolotherapy? Who did you see and an approximation of how much it cost you?

Also I would like to add if you have SIJD due to being pregnant or having given birth, then you could also have weakness in the pubic symphysis at the front. The pelvis is a circle and once there is weakness in one place the rest are under tremendous strain and this is when other areas are affected. Joints are supported by ligaments, which attach to muscles. You can have SIJD due to weak glutes. But its more common after childbirth, where the ligaments do no return back to their normal strength and so there is not enough support for the joint and the joint starts to move which causes the irritation. No amount of osteo or chiro will fix this. Do not let anyone aggressively adjust you. You can get temporary releif by purchasing a sacroilliac belt whilst you are still pregnant this will give you some extra releif till you have given birth.

Lovely ladies of the forum, The trouble is: we all want to go Chiropractors for any pain issue in the joints, and secondly we go for Brands rather that going for the one who has good hands and knowledge! example; a friend of mine got a slipped disc 3 months ago, and was advised few of this Cool places (and he said later i know for sure the person who advised me herself doesnt go there as it costly!) , just to get disappointed one after another. He then visited a clinic in Jumeira by a friend. He began recovery immediately and was saved from surgery and he is happily back to work. The lady there does magic. The place name is Advanced OrthoSpine

Go to Up and Running on Al Wasal road for a proper diagnosis and treatment. You should be able to claim on your insurance if you go through the proper channels first.

Hi! Personally I haven't experienced the same problem as you but occasionally I suffer from pain in my left shoulder. I've seen Peter Engmark in Healthcare City many times but when he suddenly increased his price from 400 AED for 1 h to 640 AED for 40 minutes I looked elsewhere.. Not saying he's not good but it's a bit too expensive for me :) Now I go to Emirates European Medical Center on Al Thanya Street. There is a Chiropractor from Finland there (can't remember his name now.. I've only been there once) and he's really good.. The price is reasonable as well :) Good luck!!

Hi Ladies! I'm in search of a good Chiropractic who can handle pregnant women's Spinal adjustments.... I've heard (just reading from these posts and online) about Dr. Charles and Dr. Sean from California Chiropractic.... and was wondering if anyone knows which of the 2 would be more experienced or actually practices chiropractic for pregnancy too? TIA Hi, I suffered from back problems while pregnant, my chiropractor mentioned something about how the hormorne relaxins loosens during pregnancy to prepare for the baby to pass though and this caused me some much pain in my pelvis and back. I found manipulation was amazing for me and reading up on it, it seems that is a great thing to do during and after pregnancy as things can tweak during labour. I saw Dr Sean at the California chiropractic clinic in Dhcc before and after labour. He is very nice and seems to know a lot about this. This was my first baby and i was high risk too so I was extremely nervous to try anything but it really helped. All the best

Often sacroilliac joint dysfunction is actually caused by lax ligaments, often after childbirth. I would not get manipulated, as this can cause much more damage. If you have tried physio and after three months it has not worked and you have had an mri/x-ray done on your lower back especially the L4 and L5 ruled out then I suggest you need further treatment. I know alot about this as i have been recovering for 9 months now, after a well known sports clinic made my situation a million times worse by then damaging the supporting ligaments. I could not walk. I could not twist. I could not sit/stand. I could not put my own shoes on. I had to quit my job. I had my life ripped away from me in an instant. I researched and researched and I have been doing treatment for 9 months now, and i can walk again. My recovery has been life changing. Google. Prolotherapy. I am more than willing to meet up with anyone to discuss my case and the Dr I see here as not just any Dr can do this they need to be correctly trained. I have been through alot this past year and would hate for anyone else to go through what i have gone through. I also want to spread the word that there is a cure! You dont need to live with this awful injury. edited by MrJeeves on 20/01/2015

I saw Dr Sean today and he is super nice. Very professional, some other chiropractor i have been to have not been able to adjust my neck but he did it straight away. Have been suffering from such bad back pain and he relieved it a lot today but he said I need to come back....which i know have a little one and does not help that he needs to be picked up all the time. I would recommend him, I thought he was very good.

Oh really, I think he was Irish - that is a shame as he was very good. It is, yeah he was the Irish one, think he lived there before, i know he studied in Bournemouth...will let you know what his replacement is like, sounds older and experienced. I get nervous seeing some new but I know the clinic has such a good reputation I would rather stick with them

Ask for either Dr. Charles or Dr. James Boyle, as I have been treated by both and have always been more than happy :) Does anyone know what happened to Dr James Boyle, as he has left the California Centre?? He told me he was going back to the UK :-( I am going to try his replacement out next week, Dr Sean, will let you know how i get on.

Thanks so much for the recommendation Sophie, its annoying isnt it. I cant remember the last night i slept fully :( spend most of the evening in the bath or curled up in a ball with my hot water bottle. Off to see my gynae this morning incase it related to anything here, as ive loads of problems in this area too. Will definitely be giving them a call. Thankx, i hope you have a pain free day :) Hi Nickym1d, oh, sounds as though there are a few things going on, I would say after reading some of the comments from this thread, there's nothing like a personal referral from someone suffering similar problems but many factors have to be taken into consideration, a persons age, lifestyle etc, and to the person who said that Chiropractors are not doctors well I'm sorry to say this but you are 100% wrong, I had a discussion with Dr. Charles when he opened his practice in healthcare city and he told me that the licensing procedures were extremely strict. He trained for 8 years and yes, he qualified as a doctor in the USA. Now chiropractors from the UK, Australia do not study for the same period of time, so I cannot comment on this but i know the doctor I visit can legitimately use doctor. What the department of health allow in Dubai as far as licensing is another matter, as this is an entirely different licensing board to Dubai Healthcare City, no where near as strict.

I was advised to start seeing a Physio as the Chiropractor was just reclicking joints back into position, but changes needed to be made as to why it was happening to begin with. I now go to Dubai Physio on Beach Road, and I am really happy there and they really know what they are doing.

I also had problems with my lower back and left hip. I first went to a chiropractor and she manipulated and pulsed things through me and yes, I felt better. Then she started manipulating my neck and telling me I needed to come back for continuous 'maintenance'. I stopped then went to an oesteopath. She said it was my Sacroilliac joint and stretched and manipulated - I felt great after. She also thought my neck was rather 'loose' - only then I told her I had been to see a Chiropractor. I have had problems off and on - went for an MRI scan to really find out the problem - I have two discs that are not doing what they are suppose to be doing. Need to see my Dr for the next step. All I am saying is just be aware. They are not Drs. They are allowed to call themselves Drs here but they are not. I am sure some are better than others and I am sure they do some good but I would always advise seeing a Dr and/or oesteopath.

A hot water bottle will worsen it. Your supposed to ice an inflammation for one hour or until its uncomfortable. This is what our chiro told us. Most people make that mistake too he told us.
