If you were in the UK and I was sending you a Christmas card, would you think I was rude if I put a note in it requesting that the card you send me (if you are going to do so) be sent to my Dubai address rather than my UK address.

We gave all our friends and relations our UK address the first Christmas we were here, and 3 Christmases later we are still getting cards addressed in the UK - they then get forwarded to my mum and dad and my dad then scans them and emails them to us lol! This doesn't quite have the same effect!

do you have it redirected to Dubai Sue? We have ours redirected to my parents house - didn't realise you could do it to a foreign address - will have to look into it. yes - normal Royal Mail Redirection includes overseas addresses

why should anyone mind ? - it's just a change of address. Just explain that you no longer have your post redirected.. I know - but they've not got the message in the last 3 years so I'm thinking they're too tight to pay the extra stamp! Thanks NN - good idea, but I am trying to get this done today as DD is flying home tomorrow and I want her to take them with her. oh i see..thought you'd just stopped redirecting.. if you do get any go to your parents why can't they just send them on ? because they'd have to pay the postage and they shouldn't have to do that imo - I honestly think most people know we're here and just can't be a*sed to pay the extra for the stamp for the most part! I've just realised I've lost my trusty Christmas card address list! And nor can I find my address book since we've moved! Think I'll resort to those awful e-cards! really ? then if they're that tight don't bother sending them one lol.. If you sent them your Dubai address and they don't use it then there's not much more you can do i suppose... We still have our post redirected and even though ppl have our address here i tell them to still use the UK one cos it's cheaper...

How about printing off some stickers with your name and address on and sticking them on the back of the envelope like you would a return address on a parcel? I know that a lot of cards we get sent come with these, its really helpful when people move around so much in this day and age! Personally I wouldnt mind the note but this might be a bit more subtle?
